    Did something different in Fruita

Went out with a few buddies for a long weekend, got to do some miles at Rabbit Valley (exit 2) which is primarily for dirt bikes and 4wheelers. For mtb riding it was a little sandy and a lot windy. We did a loop of trail #4 and trail #8 (rim trail), decent riding, some sand hill hikes but challenging enough for early season, good fun, fantastic views and we didn't see a single person. There is TONS of trials for motorized exploration as well, probably did 40+ dirt bike miles on top of mtn bike riding. It goes on forever. A pretty good place to camp as well, I believe its all BLM land.

Day 2, we went and did Lions Loop out to Troy Built loop, back to the fire road. Short 11 miles, but awesome singletrack, good flow, ups and downs, little, nice little techy sections, some slickrock playgrounds to play on the way. Once again AMAZING views and scenery. The trail was so much fun, it just made you want to put the hammer down and keep up a ripping pace the whole time. It was a nice break from the regular Mary's/Horsethief loops. Not to mention the Kokapelli trial head was slammed with cars, we saw 5 people on our ride.

Nice, Fruita is a blast. Good thing you hit it now, instead of waiting until later in the season. HOT AS HELL later.

Sounds like fun! We do that type of thing in Moab a lot. You can see and do so much more when you get out and MTB in the morning, and ride dirt bikes in the afternoon/evening.

I haven't ridden in Fruita at all yet - we'll have to check that stuff out!
