    Mojo 90 (05/06) mounting point?

First...I've tried to search but couldnt' get sure answer.

Mojo 90, 05/06 model @ 186cm, Jon Olsson's signature ski (by the way, pretty cool graphics!)

Is the mounting point the same as in earlier Mad Trix Mojo? There was some shop guy telling that the mounting point on the new ones is much further forward? Is this true possibly?

Just by free-eying it (the boot on the center mark, approximately where it should be) it doesn't look too bad, it's centered but not totally in the middle of the ski.

WWMD? I'm going to use these for park, groomers and all-around goofing but I believe this pair is not going to see much powder, maybe sometimes crud and spring slush though. I'm not doing any mad flippy-spinny stuff nor much rails I guess but some basic moves...360's, maybe 5's here and there, straight airs, occasional 180's both switch (small jumps) and forward, can carve a decent turn - no monkey steeze here on snow (and not much in the air even if I'd like to --> bad tall boy style)

I believe Jon Olsson knows his shit? --> mount right at the mark?
Or is the ski so jib oriented by design that I should go back a bit for versatility?

Thanks in advance, any advice appreciated!

EDIT: got some new info from the local retailer guy. He said that Jon's preference is +9cm forward(!!!???)...but I guess that's from the "normal" manufacturer's recommended mounting point? Sounds strange to me if they're selling these skis with that kind of stance to the general public?(-> and just by looking the boot center mark you could see it can't be that much forward!)

Mount on the mark for good overall performance (especially if you're not skiing much powder.)

Some of the crazy jib guys mount their skis so far forward because they spend just as much time skiing switch as they do skiing forward.

    Thanks.

And, yes I guess mounting right on the mark is always a pretty safe bet.

I'm skiing switch on these skis maybe 5% of time, if less, anyways.

I've skied it 2 weeks ago mounted 9 cm back (no joke!).
Perfect setup for me. Little bit more on the freeride side but the given centrepoint is way to much forward for decent allround use.
So if you wanne use it only for the park maybe go back only 7 cm or so but I wouldn't go any further forward.

Again.....9 cm is realistic if you wanne ski some powder or crud as well!

    Really? 9 cm?

This is getting confusing...seems like a lot of controversial info about this ski around. Are you sure it wasn't right on the mark? - and that is supposed to be 9cm back from the Jon's stance?(which I guess is totally in the middle of the ski?)

I guess the shop guys are referring to his preference when talking about how forward the bindings really are on this ski...after all this is his signature ski. BUT still the manufacturer's mark is not that far forward, right?

Just going to a shop to get them mounted. I will do some measuring there. I liked the normal mark for Pocket Rockets (for allaround use, for pow 2cm back was better)...these skis have pretty much the same measurements, so I think I will find the equivalent of PR mark, and put the bindings there.

Jon often skis park with his sticks mounted FORWARD OF TRUE CENTER. That's why they're so far up there. It also makes those steezy true nose grabs a bit easier for him... still insane, though. I can't make myself bend that much, even to reach the tips of my centermounted 180cm park skis. That grab looks too awesome not to try, though.

Note: That doesn't actually mean anything at all. Stop worrying about where he mounts his skis; it has very little to do with where mere mortals should mount those same skis.

The mark on the 185 cm PR was close to 4 cm ahead of the narrowest point of the ski so I decided to move 2 cm back. Maybe taking similar measurements will shed some light on things.

    Phunk:

Advice taken. I mounted them right at the mark. That will do now. And yes, Jon Olsson skis "a bit" different than me (or maybe 99,9% of people on this board for that matter...)

I will get the skis back from shop by next monday...look out for pictures in the "quiver" thread. Had to take some Tyrolias with them (part of the deal)...they're some 15din race stock though, so I guess they're allright?

I get to test the skis on 22nd of April...interesting to see how they perform.

I have an 06/07 version. This is my pre-season ski. It won't see more than 4" of snow and it won't see the park. I ride pretty aggressively.

So where do I mount these?
    -2 behind the line?

    Thanks.

-2 works well for me. I have been using the 186 as an everyday resort ski and have liked them a lot. I had tried some demos and moved the position around. Definitely a more solid feel mounted a little back, but still easy to ski everywhere. I use other skis for deeper days.
