    The snow conditions were vastly different as was the avalanche danger.

    Two weeks later in the season, the snowpack was much much more isothermal. There were no fresh slides. The winds had been out of the west.

    What makes you think there was no snow pit? If it was because Blurred didn't mention one in the TR, that's probably because there was no avalanche.

    The SKY chutes are not universally unsafe to ski. Like any other terrain, it depends on the conditions and situation.
