    Booster Straps

Are they worth it? I ski at least 5 days a week, and shin bang really clenches my b-hole. I stretch and ride a stationary bike everyday but it doesn't always do the trick.

usually shin bang is because your shin moves a bit then hits the shell resistance, this suggests looseness around tibia down to ankle

booster will help at upper part of cuff but if you're loose at the lower shin/upper instep booster may not help as much as padding the tongue or using an eliminator shim

you'll know after you add the booster whether you still need padding, and boosters are good anyway

but there's a chance padding or an eliminator shim will fix it without adding a booster

Using a 3 band booster strap on my Flexons has made the boots flex smoove and silky.

I can't ski without them. Makes a huge difference in shin bang and boot performance+comfort for me.

I use them in tele boots. First couple resort runs of the day i usually have them untensioned. once I apply tension to the strap and lock the boot down the skiing performance is remarkable.

    creaky has it right.

Booster is not a bad way to start, should be an upgrade regardless, and is a DIY install.

OP, it's a good thing you started this thread because the shin bang/booster question has certainly never been asked and answered before...

Totally worth the money. When it's time to install, drill out any old rivets attaching your factory power strap, and install your bootser strap with some screw rivets of the appropriate length, with loctite. Save your old power straps. When you decide to get new boots, you can always re-install the factory power strap and move the boosters to the next boot.

I always put my strap above the stock strap, to bind the spoiler to the tongue, and slightly looser. Is there actually a difference to replacing the stock strap? I also found these fat nordica straps that seemed to work just as well, and weren't fiddy bucks

you snug em up the Power straps then a little more however far you want to go into the stretchyness of the neoprene, which is different than a normal velcro powerstrap which you have to set exactly right and which does not "give"

You ski five days a week and you are debating *trying* a removable boot strap that could be had on teh forumz for about $10?
