Thread: Police Behaving Badly

Police officers are not supposed to be judge jury and executioner.

Nothing matters except for the events at the time of the altercation.

Victims past, whether he was a pastor or a violent criminal, is wholly irrelevant.

Did he ever threaten the officers? No.

Did he ever point a gun at the officers? No.

Did he deserve to be murdered for smoking a blunt and having a gun? No.

I don't care if your a Dentist with a ccw, or a Drug dealer, if you put on a gun in the morning your risk of getting shot increases.

Not saying I like the cops, but all these cases involve guns on both sides.

Alot of these guys would still be alive if they didnt carry a gun every fucking day.

I disagree that a person with a known violent past should be treated exactly the same.

Explain to me how an officer in the field would know about his past?

(There was no time to run his plates and do a background search before they murdered him).

Innocent until proven guilty, unless you're black.

If they know his past. They may know the individual or they may get it from a name or plate search. I'm not sure which incident you are referring to, if it is the N Carolina one I agree that even if it is known he has a recod of violence they didn't act appropriately.

One tactic change that would change almost all of these situations is training the police to keep at a distance if it us unknown how much of a threat a person is. If the police were to back up, take cover, and surround an individual instead of advancing it would maintain a zone of safety and give them time to further assess the situation. Try fast drawing and hitting a silhouette at 20 yards with a pistol.

I think most people in this thread agree with you, you don't have a corner on understanding this and there is no need to be so pedantic.

And apparently a 6 yo white boy. Yes, a disproportionate number of black people are murdered by police but aggressive policing affects all races and we should be outraged by all of it.

And uhh, why are they throwing a gun on the ground?

sorry to burst anyones bubbles, however, the gun was not planted. In fact the news now reports the gun recovered was reported stolen and the thief identified the victim as the person he sold the gun to for cash. So while the family argues he did not own a gun, he in fact owned the gun recovered and was purchased illegally since he was a convicted felon. Additonally, he had history of violent behavior and served prison time for shooting a man in Texas in 2004 and had a restraining order for threatening to kill his wife as recently as last year. Should he have been killed? I do not think so. did the police have the right to think he was more threat then the initial reports portrayed him, absolutely.

Maybe. Or the gun thief is an informant and the cop had a stolen gun on him to plant. Cop says to recently busted gun thief you identify the victim as someone you sold the gun to and we'll let you off. Cases exactly like that have been documented dozens of times and lots of retired cops tell stories of the same.

Did you watch the video? Have they explained in your narrative why the cop is throwing a gun on the ground?

The Tulsa cop who fatally shot an unarmed black man pleaded not guilty to first-degree manslaughter Friday as her attorney claimed she was temporarily deaf during the shooting.

“She didn't hear the gunshot, didn't hear the sirens coming up behind her just prior to the shot,” Wood said Thursday. The condition, sometimes called “auditory exclusion,” happens when people in high-stress situations tune out noises around them, Wood said.

“It's not only a common phenomenon described in literature, but it's the No. 1 perceptual distortion by people I have represented who have been involved in shootings — diminished sound or complete auditory exclusion,” he argued.

I cannot help but think this ends up being more a trial on Police tactics, police conditioning ect. I see this now, but cannot help but think the argument will be made that she was systematically CONDITIONED to feel the appropriate amount of fear and react as she did. - She was over the top,but her moves and actions look like a carbon copy of every other Hair Trigger Shooting we see on the TV.

There is zero information about what happened! His obituary says passed away unexpectedly.

Why no coverage from msm? No narrative

Hmmmm. What is the end goal. What's the psyop

What's your point? About 1200 people a year are killed by police--white and minority but mostly minority. Most of these--white and minority rate only local attention. If the New Hampshire press doesn't cover a police killing--and I have no idea what other coverage, if any, there has been, that's on them. And there well may be more coverage once more information becomes available. Looks to me like you cherry picked a story to fit your agenda--and didn't do a very good job of it.

“Fuck this guy,” said one officer as 51-year-old Joseph Mann entered his sight. “I’m going to hit him.”

“OK, go for it, go for it,” his partner replied, and the vehicle swerved toward Mann as he crossed the street. After two attempts to run Mann over, the officers switched tactics, leaping from the car and shooting him 14 times.

"In the class recorded for “Do Not Resist,” Grossman at one point tells his students that the sex they have after they kill another human being will be the best sex of their lives. The room chuckles. But he’s clearly serious. “Both partners are very invested in some very intense sex,” he says. “There’s not a whole lot of perks that come with this job. You find one, relax and enjoy it.”"
