Common theme in all of these incidents is the total lack of professionalism by our nations police force.

In the first place most of these guys were not anywhere near a gun. In the second place, open carrying is a lot more dangerous if you're black. I'm pretty sure I could carry a gun in an open carry state and not get shot, assuming I'd shaved in the last day or two.(Speaking of which--perception is everything. I used to pick up my kid from day care wearing a dress shirt, dress pants, and tie. No one ever asked me who I was or to show id. One day I was off work and making something in my shop and I go to pick him up in my dirty, saw-dust covered shop clothes and got the 3rd degree. I thanked them for looking out for my kid's safety but told them that if someone came to steal a kid they would be dressed like I was on the days they didn't question me. We all judge people by the way they look--and not just based on race.

My hands would be so high and empty that it would be obvious I didn't have a gun.
