[Officer]Abad was in eight accidents prior to the wrong-way crash, including two where he was charged with drunk driving. He pleaded guilty to one of those incidents in 2013, after a police dashcam captured him failing a field sobriety test.
The 2011 DUI charge, in which Abad crashed into the wall of a supermarket, was dismissed after a dispute over evidence. An attorney representing Kudlac has filed a tort claim notice over the handling of that charge.

So this assclown had been crashing in to buildings, parked cars etc. and been given a pass time and time again because you know, cops don't arrest their brethren. His last big fuck up he drove the wrong way on the expressway after leaving a bar/strip club at 5 am and went head on to a truck. Killed 2 passengers in his car, one a fellow officer and put others in the hospital in critical condition.

His lawyers are now fighting the blood test saying their was no grounds for the test because a fellow officer on the scene said he did not smell any alcohol. The blood test came in at .24! 3 times the legal limit. Gee, I wonder how many other times this officer couldn't smell any alcohol. The lawyers have also dreamed up that Abad was drugged by the dancers with GHB. It's unbelievable what lengths these losers will go to protect each other.

It took 8 years of fuck ups and finally a death of one of their own to get this guy fired and it is still not over. This fuck and most of his copsucking buddies should be in jail.

Have you ever driven that part of I-15? All those people were probably doing 10-15+ over the limit and deserved it. IIRC, it's also clearly marked as a double-fine "zero tolerance zone." If you speed there and get popped I have no sympathy*.

Down in the comments people from Break and Rumble both offered to pay him to use the video. I wonder what the going rate for stuff like that is?

meh, I haven't driven that road but 75-80 on a flat, straight stretch on a highway doesn't seem so egregious. Also, if its a double pop zero tolerance zone it certainly would suck to get pulled over for 70.

Or just don't speed since it's a clearly advertised speed trap? Also, they're only 14 miles south of Vegas at that point. Moderate to heavy traffic is common there (and appeared to be in the video) and ticketing someone for 10+ over is not unreasonable.

Go as fast as you want or conditions allow & keep right except to pass. If a tire blows out, ease off throttle and merge right to the shoulder. It's not as complicated as the 55mph puritans will have you believe.

We drove all over southern germany--almost all the freeways had a speed limit, 130kph or less. The stretches with no speed limit were pretty limited. France has limits everywhere--again max 130, which is a lot scarier than in Germany, because they're doing it in Renaults, not Mercedes. In Italy they have speed cameras. We got a couple of tickets. The GPS told us when we were in a speed camera zone but we were too stupid to pay attention. People in all those countries do take stay to the right a lot more seriously than we do.

I'm not familiar with the stretch of road in the speed trap video but I would suspect it's like a stretch of I5 south of sacramento where the wide open road suddenly becomes urban traffic jam and people routinely get rear ended at high speed, often by semis.

A true speed trap, the kind that had the AAA advising people not to drive in Georgia with out of state plates, involves a sudden, drastic decrease in the speed limit, with a motorcycle cop hiding just beyond the sign. Those are out of fashion now; the cops now just make up a reason to stop you and then have a dog pretend to alert on you. I did run into a genuine speed trap in Gold River, OR. Got a ticket for speeding in a school zone--on a Saturday. I managed to get it tossed.

Which is it, zero tolerance (doing 66 in a 65) or was everyone doing 10+ over. If it was about safety they could easily park a police car on the shoulder and slow everyone down. I don't doubt that road could get busy but the video is not exactly proof. I mean you've got 12 cops with 12 pulled over. Considering I've seen traffic get backed up because one car is changing a flat tire on the other side of the road.
