“I have a responsibility to not be intimidated and bullied by low life losers who abuse what little power is granted to them as ski patrollers.”
Are you fucking kidding? Do you know how long it takes to re-authorize or worse re-write a law? WTF happens when there is opposition?
In a sunset provision the law ends. As posited the laws would have to be re-authorized, but more likely re-proposed (with amendments) every fucking 10 years. We have a LOT of laws, most of which have nothing to do with Criminal Justice. Imagine in the current environment having to re-argue Trade deals, emissions, and food inspection every 10 years as well. The proposition is classic populism. It sounds good on the surface but as soon as you actually expend some thought on it it's retarded.
I've seen FB posts already trying to "blame the victim" because he had a history of breaking vehicular laws. Unbelievable. The man worked for 20+ years feeding CHILDREN. he was not a "thug." by any definition.
He had threatened the cops with supposed bombs that he had planted throughout the area. It's reasonable to assume he could have set those off using his phone or other wireless triggers. Although odd (and kinda brutal/primal) I don't blame the cops for coming up with a way quickly to take his ass out.
Love the whole "if he was a good guy why was he packing heat" vibe coming from the retarded right on social media. They're trying to justify the Louisiana guy's murder saying he wronged a 14yo by impregnating her when he was 20. The man fucked up but raised that child until the day he died. Wonder if those windowlickers look at Jerry Lee Lewis or Elvis Presley the same way.
He was a product of the street, the Baton Rouge man. He had a commercial operation outside the store and flashed his piece to a beggar. I don't blame him, if you don't appear strong in that kind of environment you become prey. In a lot of communities it's standard issue to have a gun or a knife to protect yourself. If anyone doesn't believe that drive to your nearest inner city at 1am, park the car at 7-11 and do a 5 mile loop and report back. I used to carry a .38 when I lived in Manassas, mostly carried at night. Stupid idea but it made me feel safe.
^ C'mon Tip... If "white privilege" exists at all, it's the 2nd amendment... Black dudes who own guns are gangbangers and drug dealers. Ask Nancy... Or Hillary for that matter. Dude was obviously a super predator when he wasn't working at the public school. You never can tell with "that type".
Something to think About.

interesting how the story changed over night. Seems neatly cleaned up.
Convenient these cops getting killed right after we all watched cops murdering people on tv

Reading quotes from cop after cop claiming that now they fear for their lives because they're being targeted is simply precious.
To his credit, when the president of the National Fraternal Order of Police was on NPR yesterday, and the interviewer asked if the Dallas killings should lead to some introspection among the police force, he acknowledged that was true.
The 80s and 90s were a dangerous time to be a cop. We live in the safest times we have seen since the mid 50s. Despite what the media vomits out everyday.

Don't disagree. They were more dangerous times to be Driving While Black, too. Used to be, all these dudes would have ended up with a baggie full of crack in the car, and this would just be two more drug dealers off the streets for good.
Turns out, everything the Black community ever said about LE is proving itself to be true. Cops are going to have to come to terms with the fact that this shit only works on the DL, and the DL days are gone.
That's a great point. 50s-70s wasn't a great time to drive, while being not white. Or do anything for that matter.

Some kid got pulled over yesterday for driving while black in my white flight refuge of St Louis. He shot the cop in the neck.
