Just to feed the trolls:

My daughter goes to the largest public HS in Washington, DC. It is also the most racially diverse, with Black students only making up ~55% of the student body.

The uncomfortable truth is that many of the points in FluffyKitty's C&Ps are true. The saving grace of my daughter's school is that the black kids want to go there - only a few would matriculate there naturally since it's in an exceedingly white neighborhood. Shit, there's a WholeFoods literally across the street from the school. There are groups of kids that want to act like the ones posted above and they are marginalized by the rest of the student body. "Cut that Ghetto shit out" is a relatively often used phrase in the halls.

I talked to a fellow parent who drives their kid nearly across town every day from one of the poorest neighborhoods in the city. They were telling me stories exactly like the ones above, and from a black perspective. "I don't do this and my boy's in jail or dead by the time he's 18." That's any parent's nightmare, regardless of color or social/financial status.
