George Roberts is a supervisor at the Independent Police Review Authority, the agency responsible for investigating claims of police misconduct and officer-involved shootings. On New Year’s Day 2015, Roberts was pulled over after he left a bar. One of six officers who stopped Roberts found his IPRA identification badge.

Immediately afterwards, the police dashcam recording the traffic stop cuts to black; Roberts alleges in his federal lawsuit against the police this is because another officer intentionally turned off the camera. Roberts’s attorney claims police paperwork did not even note any footage existed. In fact, police only admitted to its existence when Roberts’s criminal counsel discovered it during his trial for driving under the influence.

Appears this 25 yo. heroin addict was picked up on warrants, put in jail and 3 days later he is dead. Died of dehydration, or, as the coroner likes to say "natural causes" so that everyone is cleared of any wrong doing.

Got lazy, set up a 'perimeter' outside a random house, put three holes in someones Boston Terrier for protecting its own home, then hid behind the chief for a few weeks. My FOP contact says I was a victim.

I saw some loose stats recently on how many dogs are killed by police every yr - and particularly when it's a mistaken arrest or wrong house. These film makers say ~10k yrly. And sounds like there is essentially nothing you can do about it as a dog owner

Not too far from home, last April, a cop killed a dog. Cop claimed he was investigating a possible break in. Claimed that he went to the front door and knocked. No response. He said he then went through a closed gate to the backyard where the dog attacked him. Naturally he shot at it, 4 times, hit him twice and killed the dog. After the police investigated themselves, all was good. Police chief stated that the officer was bitten on his foot and that the next bite could have been an artery and killed him.

Interesting info on this story. Police officer was at the wrong house. Owners said that the dog would always bark if someone knocked on the door, even hearing the mailman putting mail in the mailbox. Neighbor watched cop. Said he never went to front door. Family and neighbors say the dog was good natured and has never exhibited aggression.

Unfortunately there are tons of stories.
