The Post And Courier reported the initial story:

"Police in a matter of hours declared the occurrence at the corner of Remount and Craig roads a traffic stop gone wrong, alleging the dead man fought with an officer over his Taser before deadly force was employed.

A statement released by North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor said a man ran on foot from the traffic stop and an officer deployed his department-issued Taser in an attempt to stop him.
That did not work, police said, and an altercation ensued as the men struggled over the device. Police allege that during the struggle the man gained control of the Taser and attempted to use it against the officer.

The officer then resorted to his service weapon and shot him, police alleged."

I love how the police statement about even mundane things are outright lies. The police said that they administered first aid and CPR before paramedics, but oh the video shows the victim remained handcuffed on his stomach while the cop planted a taser next to him, in front of another cop, then stood around, giving him no aid. Not that CPR would have mattered but that the police clearly have no problem lieing in their statements.

Yes, but only because of the video. Without the video, no way this cop gets charged. There is still a long way to go to get a conviction. I'd still put the odds of conviction at 50/50.

This is false. He dismissed the Third Amendment claim only, allowing the Fourth (and First) Amendment claims to proceed. And because the Fourth concerns warrants, the title of this article is just straight up wrong and stupid.

I am the last guy who will ever defend cops, but when stupid writers write stupid shit and other people just go along with it, it cheapens legitimate arguments.

100% agree. When I read the first post here about it I decided to do a little more reading because the source seemed to be the kind of site that might slant the facts to serve an agenda.

So let me get this straight: cop pulls over guy for a broken taillight. Guy doesn't want to have his ID run because he evidently owes much child support and was afraid he would go to jail (a good possibility!) so guy runs. Cop tells him to stop (did he tell him?)...guy keeps running...cop pulls his gun and shoots him EIGHT fucking times. Guy is dead.. Cop walks over to the body and handcuffs the dead body????? And moves the tazer to make it look like the guy had it????? WTFF (Freakin' Fuck)????????????

EDIT: HOLY SHIT...just saw the vid. No warning shot...8 shots in rapid fire succession. He DID handcuff the body (maybe the guy was still alive then). Didn't see anything about a tazer on vid but it was only 46 seconds...is there longer? That fucking cop deserves to go to general population in the blackest prison in South Carolina!!!!!!

This is the longest vid I could find of the events PRE-shooting. Is anybody with a sound editor/isolator able to pick out what was said at exactly 00:15 at the beginning? It might not even be words from those two, it might be from the street...just random...but I don't think so...something was said and I would be awfully interested in finding out what.

Another thing...if he was pulled over for a broken taillight, why were they in a path in a park with no street around? Did the guy run from the car, the cop ran after him and they ended up scuffling there on the park path?? Two black things dropped on path...one stationary, and another smaller thing rolling into grass. If one was the tazer, what was the other???
