Probably 20-25 days on them. I like em like that. Still hold an edge but so surfy and slarvey too.

    What's Blizzard up to?

I was +1.5cm on my R11s….were great there. +1cm if I was to do again (shorter bsl now so more centered on the ski).

    What's Blizzard up to?

Funny, I mounted 19-20 R/S11s for 307mm BSL^ then got new boots at 293 and had *juuuuust enough* adjustment room on the binding to get them in there. It hasn’t occurred to me that I also like the new boot center location better than the old one!

^Actually I think I drilled for 305 on the line, so was -0.1cm before and moved up to +0.6cm. But I can totally see +1 being money.

Also I did get confirmation from Blizzard Nordica Tech Support that in 180 cm the Sheeva 11 has always been exactly the same as Rustler 11. I presume it’s the same for 187 and is a good way to save dough if you can stand the glittery feathers … the glitter is growing on me! (I call mine “Glistlers”)

I’m solidly convinced that this ski with Duke PTs and favorite resort capable tech toe boot of choice will be the ultimate mid winter travel ski.

There’s a pair of the pornstar sticks over on newschoolers in there track pant store. Hustler 11 in a 180 still in the plastic for $450.

Attention Kmart shoppers... I picked up their last pair of 180's for my darling daughter, but that was two price drops ago. I guess they need to get rid of these.

What’s the consensus on the bodacious 196 mount. +2 was were I was headed. Is that wrong?

here, this is for the drool factor…. Love me a Virgin.

I'm a little lighter than you and have both the 177 and 183 - love them both, but the 177 are mounted on the line and the 183 is +1.

New 11 skis chopped up hot pow and the untouched variety just fine.

186 feels significantly shorter than the previous 188, and is quicker in tight places without having to cheat the turns. New 186 floats significantly better than the old 188. Really couldn’t stuff the tips in 15in of sunny cascadia pow.

Really impressed with how seamlessly the ski handles a wide range of turn shapes, in a wide range of snow conditions. I think folks who have been really happy with the 188 might find the 186 a bit short, but I only really wished it was longer a couple times over the day. Looking forward to seeing if the 192 has the same rocker profile as the 186. Could be absolutely fantastic.

I find the new metal layer/shape goes a long way to keeping the tips quiet. Even when they start to come unglued at higher speeds they don’t flap around. I’ve noticed this in other skis with a similar metal layer.

    186, skied on the line

Exciting Xavier, Greg mentioned they reminded him of the gunsmoke with metal, you agree?

No 192s before next season right?

That’s my understanding. Rocker lines are much more gunsmoke than previous rustler. Tip shape / taper is more rustler than gunsmoke.
I didn’t get along with the gunsmoke as many other people did. I needed to be back 2cm to get them to really work for me. I think the wide tip and especially tail weren’t my friend. I have had the same issue with other big fat tail rockered skis (Caylor, Hellbent). Didn’t have these issues with the new rustler.

Evo is having some pretty insane prices on 2022 Blizzard skis. Cochise, Bonafide, Brahma, Sheeva (long lengths).

Those Bones are tempting. Anyone mount their Bones forward of recommended? Sounds like the updated version is pretty demanding, even more so than past iterations.

I'm at plus 1 on 189s (6'2/195, P15 GWs/Kryptons/317 BSL @WB); bumped forward as I was a bit intimidated, and happy there, but no doubt the bump would have worked also. Still love my pair; I use em as firm only (hasn't snowed in a week sorta thing), and they're fantastic, on and off piste. If there's more than a few inches, Katana 108s or FL113s come out, as I find em a bit challenging to release in West Coast 3D snow, though some on here don't seem to have my issue, and ski em well in 3D. Great fuckin skis.

Oh man… I really don’t need to drop any more money on skis but you’re makin’ it tough. Did you experiment with mount point at all or try anything forward of +1? Or only +1?

Nope, just plus 1 (which I realize isn't all that helpful, haha), though pretty sure there are some rippers on here on the line with no complaints. I personally have no need to move my pair, but, with time on em, would have no issue going back to the line I don't think; I have no need to go forward, but prefer trad mounts. There's tons of positive info on em buried in this thread, and Bandit started up a Bonafide 97 thread as well with good info. If you like traditionally mounted, cambered, metal lam skis, these'll find a place in your quiver. Hope that helps.

I just picked up a set of the 189s and mounted on the line. They like forward pressure and speed but I would be hesitant to call them demanding. What do you want to gain by mounting forward?

thinking about the 2022 Zero G 95 in a 185cm for a light touring ski - with a lighter but not superlight binding

currently my closest ski to that would be a 188 QST 99 with Tectons - that’s been my go to backcountry ski for 3 years now and I know I can go lighter

    anyone rolling these?

    other skis I have include:
185 Enforcer 99 with Outlaw NTN - great daily driver tele rig

186 Enforcer 104 with Tecton - my daily driver for the ski area, including early ups hiking the mountain before opening and lots of sidecountry ventures - fkn great ski

192 Gunsmoke with Shift for deeper days at the ski area - doesn’t seem like a touring ski for me, so Shifts made sense for these - I don’t ski anything without some ability to climb

188 QST 118 with Tecton - lighter fat ski for deep touring days and at the ski hill

I like the Tecton a lot because it tours well, seems safer than some with the alpine heel, and is light enough for me - I’m no weight weenie

but I really like the idea of a lighter rig for Sierra spring missions, Shasta, etc

Just comfort and consistency with the rest of my quiver. I’m anywhere from 8-9ish cm behind true center on everything I have. At least on the skis I have, at -8 to 9 I feel like I can ski them centered or drive them when I want.

I used to have a pair of the 2016 Bones (mounted at the line) and I liked them, but ended up selling them after I got my 2017 Moment Bibby’s, which allowed me to ski relaxed when I wanted or drive them pretty much as hard as the Bones. Call me crazy, but the Bibby’s were my one ski quiver in the PNW/Utah for a few years.

I’m skiing a lot more these days so I’ve been talking myself into growing and dialing in a legit quiver, and the last ski on my list is a hard snow playful charger (cliché I know) for when it hasn’t snowed in awhile… something around 88-99 underfoot. Right now in that slot I have a very well used 2017 Brahma 187 that I’m debating on parting ways with. It’s lost almost all of its camber, so it’s not super lively but it gets the job done.

I realize that few people would go so far as to call the Bones “playful” but my definition of “playful” is pretty much what I described above after I got my Bibby’s… being able to ski centered/relaxed if I want and not feeling like I’m fighting the ski in tight spots when I want to be quick and nimble. Long story short, I’m just curious if mounting forward would give the Bones those playful charger qualities I like - without giving up much of what already makes it a great ski.

I ski the original OG95, 185, with ATK Freetour 14. I am 183 cm, 90 kg, and like to go fast in the fall-line, like to hold the edge. I tour for the fun of skiing down, not to be fast on the up. OG95 is very good in consistant conditions. Stable for how light it is. In variable I think they don’t shine but that is to be expected with the light weight. I bought a pair of Hustle 10, 188, for more stability in Chamonix variable conditions. Still keep the OG95 since I think it is a very good lightweight ski. I expect to use the OG95 more in spring conditions which I guess is what you will do? All in all OG95 is an excellent ski and I am very happy with the OG95/Hustle 10 combo!

Picked up the ZG 95 at blowout price recently. Mounted up w Moment V12. It’s all personal perspective but to me it’s light, crazy light. It’ll be a springtime tour the resort ski.
Made a single groomer lap on them and they are fine.
The 185 measures about 182 if I recall correctly.

I’m going to say the bones are not the ski you are looking for. Depending on how much speed you crave there are more forward mounted options that are likely a better fit. J master blaster moment commander or 4frnt msp come to mind.
