Had a really nice release of a Pelican from the mangroves today. He had a huge lure with 3 treble hooks stuck in his wing and body, pinning his wing to his body. Fucker that snagged him just cut the line, and it was tangled in the groves. That guy or gal should have some bad fishing juju coming their way.
I saw a guy in a kayak struggling to help, and I went in for the assist. The guy had been paddle boarding and saw it hung up. He went home and got his kayak and some towels to throw over it's head.
Hope the little guy makes it. At least he can eat now. I had to clip 2 of the hooks, as they were too far in there. Shouldn't be too bad, as they were just the tips of the hooks.
