West Coast Internships for Physics Undergrad Summer 2015

I'm pretty firm about moving to the West Coast for the summer and am looking for an internship. I would like to spend a maximum amount of time at the beach, am really looking for a place that is close enough that I could ride my bike during lunch but realize that close enough for weekend trips is probably what I'm going to get. Not picky about at a uni or a private firm, just a program that would accept an undergrad and is physics related and is from may-august. Advice on where to look or from those who have gone through a similar process would be greatly appreciated.

Not near beach but I got a SURF internship my soph year at JPL and stayed at Caltech in Pasadena. Very interesting work and Caltech was just trippy place to be. Make friends a Dabney house, learn to pick locks and hit the tunnels!

UCSB is on beach and has the institute of theoretical physics. Not sure about internships but I taught electronics at QUEST couple summers in undergrad. UCSB and Isla Vista are pretty fun during the summer. You might lose your virginity....
