She cinched the elastic tightly around my bicep and located the vein. Then, with clinical precision, she rammed the needle home. She pushed down on the plunger, and liquid heaven flowed into my veins.
"Unh... uhhh.... uhh.... aaaaahhhh...."
Those guttural grunts were all I could manage as I reached that highest of highs. After months and months of not being able to get it, I finally got my fix. It was pleasure in its purest form.
Except that I was skiing at Crystal instead of getting injected with heroin.
It sucked. A lot. Stay away, everyone that might be considering going up to Crystal. And they AREN't opening Chair 6 tomorrow, despite numerous reports to the contrary. So don't go. It's not worth your time.
Fucking midseason conditions, and I'm not shitting you. I mean, sure, you bottom out in a couple places, and there are a lot of rocks, and if you are skiing in the trees, remember that you WILL probably hit a fallen log or something, but for the first weekend of the season, it's awesome. Already more coverage than we had last year at the peak of the season in some places. Weird distribution of snow though. The Silver King and 3 way are both rocky from top to bottom. The waterfall in the middle of Brain Damage is exposed, making the run a funnel directly into a mandatory 20 foot air with a SKETCHY landing that leads into 3 seperate equally rocky chutes. Oh, and avalanche danger is pretty high up there right now, so chances are the bitch would release, funneling you off the cliff for a ride over the rocks, and the only mandatory air you'd be taking is the mandatory airlift to Harborview Trauma Ward.
It's shaping up nicely though.Sorry to ramble, but HOLY SHIT. I love this sport. It's my drug, it's my addiction... I finally got my fix.
