Jackson / "Committed" / POWDER Pic

My buddy recently stayed at the Jackson Hostel and the owner gave him a ski movie they made....."Committed". I have been watching it a bunch this week, and it is a GREAT movie. I am kinda sick of the big production movies and this one was super refreshing. Sick skiing, but all shot around Jackson/Targee, which gives a much more downhome feel. (any mags with more details, please add).

As opposed to visualizing what it might be like to straight-run an AK face (which most of us dont do on a regular basis), with this flick it is more akin to the kind of skiing we all do on a powder day. (kinda the feel of a Walls of Freedom, but for Jackson).

Along with that, I thought I would throw in a picture from POWDER of a classic Jackson cliff band (which they do hit in Committed). This was my favorite photo they have published in years. Trying to visualize what it took to pull off these hucks is great stoke.

    Thumbs up

That movie definitely sounds cool. Just had a lengthy conversation with 666 on our Thunder Bowl hike about our favorite ski movies, and I do agree that a movie from a resort is a lot easier to relate to than most of the shots in the movies from the big companies today.

You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.

Committed has some great skiing in it, kind of a bizarro concept behind it but great skiing. From what I was able to gather everyone in the flick works/has worked at the HostelX, so my question is; Where was Nurse FluffyPillows?

Cool flick, for anyone that wants a copy I'm sure it can be obtained at www.hostelx.com (or at least you can find out how to get a copy by contacting the HostelX) .
I should probably change my username to IReallyDon'tTeleMuchAnymoreDave.
