Basin kept trying to put me into a 28.5 shell, even though I told him my foot was swimming.

I think he was trying to compensate for my ankle shape but was missing the rest of my foot

Went down the street to see Hal, he had me try a bunch in 27.5. Interestingly, he had me try the same Salomon just smaller shell. Close, but too much pain in the top of my foot that I could not pinpoint to too tight on sides vs. too tight across top of foot.

Ended up with a great deal on a pair of Nordica Girish from a few years back. So far punched out my left big toe and ground a bit on the left rubber seal down at the toes. Boot feels snug all around and flexes great, plus Hal is pretty laid back

Listen you Vermont boys have nothing to complain about

Found this on Craigslist. Could make a great ski van. Just would need to drive it right as RWD

    sick rig...

fair enuf about the wx. it is kinda interesting to me that by and large VT seems to do really well with nickles and dimes and then maine and Nh tend to do well with big bombs of storms. i like having both within a few hours drive.

Great skiing shell, super versatile fit. Easy to adapt, too. Even if it needs tweaking later, that will be a good starting point.

^^^^^^Thought about it a bit, but I am about a year away from that adventure so probably holding off. Looks pretty sweet to me so long as the engine and tranny are holding up well.

Added a bunch of weather maps to page 1 for future reference. These were copied from the Storm tracking maps thread in the weather forum. Thought they would be easier to see here. If people have good ones pm me the link and I will add them in.

Edit: meant to mention this, but not worth another post. The Wildcat/Attitash Vertical Card is on sale through 11/12 for $50. You get 1 ticket good any day, 50% off midweek with 50% off Monday and Wednesday for a friend and 25% off on weekends. with the card. It is a deal at one day, but then if you can make the other days work it is especially good.

Got to love Oct in VT, mid 60's early this week, snow later in the week. I'm just hoping for enough early snow to cover all the leaves in my yard so I don't have to deal with them until spring!

I'll take the nickel/dimes for sure, just would like them to start a little earlier than the last handful of years...late Dec. thru mid Feb. have pretty much been low tide in recent memory.

Pfft. Wrod is for losers that wear helmets and ski fat skis. Skiin doesn't get tasty till bout mid Jan, depending on how high George makes out. Maybe like the winter of 92? drove from Utah in the fall and scored 3ft blower from summit to parking lot, made a million turns on the way down - used my k2 90mm underfoot (don't need anything bigger!). never fell once and my sunglasses stayed on the whole time.

    (channeling my inner rawj) ;-)

It was nice to see snowflakes at the summit today, on a more serious note.

If anyone goes to scope that van, I strongly recommend going over the interior with a blacklight before you commit to anything...

You like the Cock. I like seeing East Coast stoke photos from last year at least until this year produces some. Different strokes for different folks.

All the cool kids at Magic go to Boot Pro in Ludlow. I stick with what has worked for more than a decade for me...Green Mountain Orthotics and they are now at Bromley instead of Stratton.
