Sounds and looks like you guys had fun in VT yesterday. Saturday was also opening day at Loon. We started the day without top to bottom skiing, but they opened a trail to the bottom halfway through the morning. All in all a great opening day at the hill!

That sounds nice but unfortunately goes against what most other weather outlets are saying at this point. With that said... Fingers crossed!

stoked you got on snow! i prolly woulda put in a day, but been a bit busy lately with the new adventure. lots of play close to home, but can't say i'm not very envious of those making november turns.

Kmart was rugged this weekend, sharp edges are crucial, like really sharp.
    really slick ice>loose duff piles>kids who rip w/o poles>telemarkers.
apparently they didn't get the memo, it's thriving there.
nice sunny lift rides yesterday, cold and greybird today.
the first day out, 11 day's ago, hero snow, endless grip, turn wherever and whenever.
this weekend was a wakeup call, keeping my feet under me, was a wicked bitch.
the vibe is awesome, lotta stoke at that hill these day's.

Hey buttah good to here your feeling it a Kmart. The new owners have done a great job. Even weekend warriors like me can find quiet places to explore just have to stay away from the gondola it's getting harder to drive the extra hour north to big lines at MRG. Also nobody does a better tune than your shop can't wait to stop in and say hello

Actually had some fun at K Saturday - sorry I missed all you other knuckleheads. Once they opened t2b I had some really nice soft bump runs and got the legs working a bit. Before that it was typical people dodging on ice for 1 minute followed by 20 minutes of lift lines.

    Snow please.

^^^ Can't remember a season when there were this many resorts open in the middle of November and there were crowds everywhere.

Jay opens Friday - maybe there will be some substantial lake effect snow that makes its way all the way to N VT for the opening.

Saturday was the better day at K, sunshine and stoke was abundant. Rode my second chair with these two Coast Guard chicks that were psyched out of their minds to be out skiing. Set the tone for the day.

Today wasn't bad, fresh edges were helpful. Got stuck for a few mins on the Gondi. That thing was bouncing like crazy when they were trying to get it going and it stop abruptly (electrical problems). Kid in me loved it, adult in me was freaking the fuck out. Got a sweet $10 voucher!

Stowe was a way off from any good natural snow skiing yesterday. With the cold temps forcast it's gonna have to be deep to base out. Staties have been out like crazy on 89 and 100. Heads up.

29.5` with an inch of new snow bob. Currently dead calm and socked in. With a lot of calm days last week the bush appears to have been putting the snow on the ground instead of dropping more trees. Snowmaking shut down overnight Saturday which was odd as the summit temps yesterday were around 19`.
Sounds like Killington is typical WROD fall fun, I hope to get down there soon.

How about a December 6th Maggot get together at Killlington? We can hope for warmer temps than last year.

I get a bunch of early season 2fers every year saying I'll use one "this year" and never do, sounds like good motivation to me.

    Rax Wing Tips... lol.

Prophet 90's... and for half price this August. Way better than my old (2005?), foam core, beat to wet noodle Dynastar 88's, that I bought as demos.

I am not ashamed to ski on something under 100mm

VT-F- Dec. 6 KMart mini works for me.

Sunday 11/16 Work day on Cardigan was great and well attended. Not wicked cold, but cold enough for hard work not drenching me with sweat. Thanks to the AMC NH Ski Committee for the nice dinner for 22 in the lodge after.

Alexandria, Kimball Glade, Dukes, Whitney, Alleyway, 93Z and 93Z-X are all buffed out and looking very good with only a couple of exceptions. Whitney has a couple of easily negotiable down trees right at the top; loppers and saws trimmed both, so passage will barely be hindered. A remote stretch of 93Z has some blowdowns, but they will probably be gone this week or on the w/e.

The AMC have made some rearrangements regarding the management of the Cardigan ski trails. The NH Ski Committee is leading, with Boston's chapter Ski Committee eager to help. Look for enhanced communications and property management.

I hope that the lake effect delivers some pow to ski, because it looks like we are in for a serious warmth next week.

THEREAFTER THERE IS INCREASING CONFIDENCE THAT A MAJOR PATTERN CHANGE WILL OCCUR ACROSS THE NORTHEAST BY LATER NEXT WEEKEND AND BEYOND AS ARCTIC AIR LIFTS OUT TO THE NORTHEAST AND IS REPLACED BY INCREASINGLY MILD WEST/SOUTHWEST CONUS FLOW. THUS HAVE ADVERTISED TEMPERATURES CLIMBING BACK ABOVE THE FREEZING MARK (30S) IN ALL AREAS BY NEXT SUNDAY WITH EVEN MILDER AIR ON THE HORIZON FOR EARLY NEXT WEEK AS CHANCES FOR RAIN SLOWLY INCREASE.
