    Seeking Ski Tech/Bike Mechanic in Portland Maine

    We are a growing bike and ski retailer in the wonderful city of Portland Maine. We are seeking an experienced bike mechanic and ski tech with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Must be experienced in both bike and ski, backcountry/telemark is a plus. We spend our days off riding and skiing in the woods, we hope you will do the same if you join our team.

    Primary Responsibilities:
    Bike + Ski shop floor retail sales
    Professional-level bike and ski service
    Writing service orders efficiently

    Qualifications:
    • 3+ years shop experience as a bike mechanic and ski tech
    • Ability to work on all bike styles and perform all maintenance tasks involved
    +Complete tune-ups and overhauls
    +Hydraulic disc brake service
    +F&R shock overhauls
    +Wheel Building

    •Ability to work on Alpine, Telemark, and Alpine Touring skis, boots, and bindings
    + Machine & hand ski tunes
    + Ski Repair (ptex & base welds, repairing delams)
    + Binding Mounts - Jig & Freehand mounts/remounts (pullouts)
    + Boot Fitting - working with conformable liners

    • Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment
    • Extreme attention to detail
    • Floor sales experience selling both bike and ski products
    +Extensive product knowledge in mountain and road bikes
    +Extensive product knowledge in backcountry ski gear (telemark, alpine touring).

    This is a full time position (40 hours) and working weekends is absolutely required.

    Compensation will be based on experience.

    good on jobs but a free thread drift bump
    kinda curious if there are that many ski techs who have no or little bike tech skills
    or if i'm an anomaly?
