If you got some clear water, paddleboarding gives you a better view down into the depths than a lot of other waterborne options. Have heard tourists get serious vertigo on paddleboard tours in Lake Tahoe from buddies who run them, since you can be looking 70 feet straight down on a clear day. Having spent several hours pounding into a headwind and waves on one, know that kayaks are faster/less effort for sure. Good balance/core workout. Fun way to dick around but are kind of a PITA if you're trying to cover lots of distance IMO.
