WINTER STORM WARNING- WA CASCADES (again!) ...anti-jinx

We haven't had a whole lot of stuff to be stoked about this season until the last week, so I just gotta post this!!!

WA Maggots- please refer to the other roll-call threads and note the Maggot Camera locations for the next 2 weeks (different thread)

ULLR, thank you for showing up! Baker storm total at 77" and other locations in the Cascades reporting 6' to 8' of fresh in the last week. It's our turn now, folks 10"-14" into tonight

    More from KIRO7
"We'll call this nature's way of playing an April Fools joke as it looks more like winter than spring this weekend. Rain will be heaviest through midday before it backs off to scattered showers. The bigger story is the heavy mountain snow for the Cascades"

watching the lift status right now... looks like Harmony & Peak are closed all day, 7th and the Glacier still on standby - either way there should be some freshies left for us weekend warriors tomorrow.

    DECISIONS DECISIONS

The limited lift operations on Friday was not cool, but it made Saturday one of the coolest on area days of my life.
After charging Blackcomb all day Friday we were ready to charge hard on Whistler's peak chair Saturday. We got one of the first gondi's up for first tracks breakfast and were in good position to hit the Peak line-up, but were too anxious. We did a lap down towards Harmony and back up Emerald to see the first chairs of Peak loading and a moderate line infront of us. The energy in that liftline was incredible, everyone who had starved all year was ready for the feast. As the first skiers dropped in to mark up Whistler bowl everyone cheered. When some skier hucked 50+feet (my rough guesstimate) in front of the line up, everyone erupted.
Many laps through Peak, Harmony, Flute Bowl and whatever was fresh in between made Saturday one of the best ski days of my life. It also gave me that deep pow epifany thhat I have heard so many talk about - considering a cat/heli type trip.

saturday and sunday = both awesome. Today was actually better off the 7th chair on Blackcomb, they were reporting 11cm but it seemed like more in most spots. Some of the best glade runs of my life this morning.

Mt. Hood Meadows was okay on Saturday. Maybe an inch or two of freshies.
