More Gotten
It was cold today -15C, lots of low ice cloud and mist, a higher fairly thick layer of cloud above too. It's been a great couple of days skiing with the storm cycle through that dropped 80cm in the last few days.
Still some of the best terrain hadn't yet been open due to the high winds and big snows limiting the ability to do avalanche control effectively. Probably still worth hauling a stiff old body back up to the hill.
Went to the top first off and no sooner than you could say inversion with -5C and blue bird skies up top then boomerang traverse was opened. A bit of a mob in front but clean line off hogsback and down shoulder roll where a bunch of the younguns' were congratulating each other on being young or some shit.
Added bonus to the warm mountain top temps, a massive sundog full cirlce with partial circles off the side. Calming to the point of spiritual with the peak of Temple Mtn now looming out of the thickly formed valley cloud.
Obvious call for another circuit after a chat with the avalanche lads to get the timing. Back around the boomerang traverse where we didn't have to blow by too many youngsters lolly gaggin' or wheezing on the hike or whatever they do at that speed. Brownshirt fenceline, damn near clean, guess they don't know about that.
Up top of summit for the inaugural Whitehorn 1 run of the season. Drop down between second and third gates while the rest bunch up at the 1st gate. A few spread down to us and then the call goes out and the movement begins. Straight shot, dead clean never even bottomed out.
Looked back up and the the first two gates looked bony as hell at the top but good turns to be had by all.
Should mention toasty warm hands in my powder.com kevlar bomber gloves. Even dropping into the cold every circuit and the toes tingling, toasty fingers.
IT'S NOT EVEN THE LAST WEEK OF NOVEMBER!!!!
I think I'll go back for more.

It's not so much the model year, it's the high mileage or meterage to keep the youth of Canada happy
