Not sure if any of the "powers that be" on this site are paying attention but this situation is shaping up to be internet reality series gold. I'd lock into this now before it's too late.

Heh! Save about the 45 year age difference it's nice to have role models. I guess?

I've always preferred Ted Knight in Caddyshack to Thurston though fwiw.

They don't require that you conduct the transaction through their payment system. Or keep any record on their system of the rental going ahead beyond the initial email enquiry.

So I doubt they actually do.

And they certainly can't if you don't use their online payment system.

Big Sky seems to be having similar struggles to a lesser degree. The problem seems to be complicated with no easy solution. Not quite sure what we're gonna do, but I also don't see how JH/BS can keep operating if their employees can't afford to live there (while the mountains and local businesses keep paying so little)...or simply find available housing. Boot all trust-funders out, perhaps? That'll clear up some space! ;-)

The vrbo does not bother me one way or the other as I live in the quiet skid-haven of Rafter J but I believe they will be monitoring vrbo's as it's a small town and it's not hard to figure out who is doing it. Not sure how they are going to enforce but my guess is it's going to happen.

Airbnb is great- they have options to search for a whole place or to share a room for uber cheap etc. My sister had a relatively large bedroom in her house in San Fran with 2 beds and sometimes people would rent it out and sleep in the other bed - in a place like San Fran they would actually pay $50 or so to share a bedroom. We also rented a sweet apartment right in the Trastevere neighborhood in Rome earlier this summer from airbnb and it was great. Highly rec checking it out especially in places like Rome where you either are in a teeny guest room or very expensive hotel

Well, I guess there's some young entrepreneur out there in the valley who's ready to take that same bedroom thing to the next logical step.

Yes- 'large' bedroom in San Fran is weird.
Sharing a bedroom with a stranger seems weird, but to each their own- helped her pay her rent through school.

You have an artesian well that spouts out chipotle smoked bacon lemonade?

Bottle that stuff and sell it.

So after my first winter in Jackson - which fucking flew by - I'm happy to report I don't have a DUI, am still happily employed, no STD's, and no crazy life coach roommates inventing hats.

And leaving Park City left them nothing but an arid, dystopian landscape where Vail replaced the daily joy I brought the community.

hey! welcome back, you have been missed. I was wondering if your new position caused you to have a little lower profile here.

Thanks. The new gig was part of it... also there is zero down time at work. It's off season so now I can coast a bit and fuck off on the forum.

This is all we get after a whole season in JH???? You need to move back to PC, or something.

I focused on behaving and working hard my first six months.
Every girl here has a boyfriend. Every. Goddam. One. So while I wait my turn I just harvested from the tourist talent on tinder.
I skied every day at lunch at least one lap from opening to closing day if I was in town. Every. Goddam. Day.
It was a relatively peaceful, fun and happy winter. No drama. No blog-worthy episodes. The first girl I dated here vomited all over inside my truck, other than that it's been great.

Edit: I also have my own place, so roommate drama has been eliminated.
