    Unhappy I am evil incarnate

    I have killed chics
    I have seen demons
    I have fired buyers
    I have fired drivers
I have whored myself to the corporate man
    I have lied
    I have cheated
    I have stolen

    I am a bad man.
I seem to be a good man, this makes it easier to be a bad man.

I have just done the worst thing in my life.

I have just layed off an entire division of my parent company (33 people) just before the holidays, with no severance package, at all.

I did this because it is part of my job.
I did this so that our bottom line would look better to the bank

I did this so the company could still go on providing jobs for the hundreds left.

--I am satan, this day sucks. It sucks even worse for 33 people who have to tell thier families that santa is not coming this year.

Tonight, there will not be enough alcohool.

    Damn.

    Edit after further thought:
Anyone who has met Fred knows he is anything but evil. Friendly, kind, outgoing, funny as shit, drunk....these are all words much more appropriate for Fred than evil.

Fred--Game time. Nobody blames you for what you had to do. While I've only fired a few people in my life, I would have done the same thing. You gots a lot of love from your family, friends and Internet weirdos like me. But if you don't like what you're doing or feel like you can no longer live with it, just remember that there are other options. Just a thought and much love, homey. What phUnkula said, too!

You're only evil if you take joy in doing this kind of thing.

Alcohol tonight for sure, but get some snow over the weekend, not for fun, but for solace.

I feel for you F man. That is not the best news. Seems like you are having some inner demons that are getting to you lately and this certainly did not help.

Let me know if I can help you out in any way. I have been a bit down lately, but the holidays bring back some memories that I don't care for, like growing up my dad being gone most Turkey days and Xmas for work. Now I am not a holiday person and Erica already asked the other day if I was alright.

    Wanna drink our sorrows away??

    That sucks man.

    I'd focus on this aspect.

It'a part of the game bro...for better or worse everyone that plays knows the rules before stepping on the court. The timing sucks, but really, when is the right time to let people go? An inevitable part of any managers career, it only gets worse as you move up the chain and are responsible for more lives. As an owner of a manufacturing buisness and one who has filled those shoes before my heartfelt sympathy goes out to you. It's a good sign that this has upset you as it means you're good at what you do and care abour those working under your command. Be strong and know you did your job, sometimes that's all you can do.

Frigid, you innocent child, you wouldn't recognize evil if it sold you real estate.
Evil doesn't care. Evil feels good sbout fucking people over, about putting themselves first about manipulating each and every scenario to it's exclusiev advantage. Evil masks evil by pretending to protect the good when in fact it's screws them over.

You are not an evil man. You're a good dood. Now go drink some beer and ski and remember that there are people who think highly of you, aside from thinking highly.

That blows dude. Did you have to have 33 separate meetings for the cannings? That would suck!! But if you were a sick bastard you could've had fun with them:

    FRZ: "You're being let go."
    Them: "Why?"
FRZ: "Because I saw bad spirits follow you into work."
    Them: "What?"
FRZ: "Yep, one of them even looked a little like a Koala bear, but an evil one."
    Them: "Are you serious?"
FRZ: "You know company policy about evil koala bears."
Them: "..the hell's wrong with you?"

And on and on. By the last interview you could have some really twisted stuff lined up. I guess that way they wouldn't feel like they were bad at their jobs it's just that the boss man had lost his mind and it's probably best for their safety that they get fack outta there anyway.

Shrug it off dude it's not your fault... just the messenger.

That's rought man! I've fired plenty of people in my life for just cause. It must be completly different to be the axe man for a RIF, due to the numbers.

Don't let it tear ya up to bad. I know inside you feel like you wrecked these peoples lives. To balance things out, have you thought about doing some volunteer work around the holiday's? I bet if you helped out at a shelter or worked a few hours at the job center assisiting the unemployed with their resumes or interviewing skills you'd feel better?

Head up dood. See ya in the front row next week.

    Canning interview #11.

Them: "What, no severance? But the holidays are coming."
FRZ: "That's why we've included a coupon good for a free value meal at any one of the 11 Wasatch front Arbys restaurants."
    Them: "You're shitting me!!"
FRZ: "I think you can get a set of holiday glasses for a dollar more."
Them: "Screw you. I'm out of here."
FRZ: "Oh, and by the way they're giving out door prizes for the first 5 people to clear out their desks and hit the exits."
    Them: "You're a bastard."
FRZ: "Don't make me regret giving you that coupon."

BTW for a ski bum this is the perfect time of year to get laid off.

I was gettin' pretty sad about this, but then Buster came through with the truth and then J$ (I like that) killed me. Twice.

Fred, if you're evil, we're all screwed. You are a great guy stuck in an uncomfortable place. No shame in that. Sounds a bit familiar, in fact.
