Less expensive alternative to Sage XP?

On a recent trip, I broke my 5 wt and ended up using the guide's Sage XP for the rest of the day.
I swear that thing made me a better fisherman.

Since the XP is no longer in production, what out there is similar to it?
Can I get something similar for around $200?

For 50 more bones the Redington Torrent is a sweet rod with similar feel.

I think we're getting a bit more strict on the warranty applying to the original owner as an fyi if you go the ebay route for an XP.

the guide let you use an xp? aren't people hoarding those? VT2's are pretty sweet as well, you can probably find some on closeout sites/ebay lots of closeouts on VXPs too which are the next gen XP

That actually reminds me of a question I've had for a while. Which rod in the current Redington line is most similar (in terms of flex and feel) to the RS4? I had one once and loved it, broke it, they wanted to replace it with a Voyant (which I had cast and didn't care for) and opted to replace it with a Classic Trout instead. Would the Torrent have been the most similar?
All I know is that I don't know nothin'... and that's fine.

Torrent has similar action but is much lighter than the RS4 was. Hard to beat a CT though, one of my favorite trout sticks.

Yeah, just got my CT back from warranty (defective, no charge) and fished it every day last week. Definitely lacks the balls of the RS4, but more than makes up for it up close which is 99% of the fishing here in Utah.
