Fall Shoulder Season Work?

I have most of my year of seasonal skiing and work figured out, with skiing Japan and Alaska Dec - June, working at home in Massachusetts June - August, and skiing Argentina August - October. However, I always struggle to find the right thing to do in the fall. When I have the money, I travel or do early season skiing, but I would rather put in a couple months of work from mid October to mid December to give me more flexibility during ski season.

I thought I would turn to the maggot collective for suggestions. For those of you also doing the seasonal thing, what do you do in the fall?

Fall creek is good place for skiing in month of September. It's september weather is perfect for skiing, so I always enjoy the skiing in september at fall creek. attungalodge.com.au

Might cut in to your Japan/Alaska time (but how good is December?) but retail and the corresponding UPS/USPS/FEDEX work picks up in the Fall.

Window cleaning. Or decorative pond cleaning. Pond cleaning has been very, very good to me. But never pressure-wash an empty pond with your mouth open. Just sayin'. You never, ever want to go there. But that's why you can charge $75 /hr.

Drive shuttles for rafter/paddlers/steelheaders, forestry research or engineering field work in the fall is good training for skiing when the bugs are gone and it still warm at least til it starts to snow

So how do I get the algae off of all of the little rocks? Do I have to pick up each individual one and scrub it?
