I know what you're talking about. We can hardly even see due to the reflection of the 26 trophies we have sitting around. Your eyes must really be straining from that one you got last year.

I think Lowe will win 15-18 games for LA this year. A sinkerball pitcher with a great defense behind him... in the NL now. I like it- and I don't even like the guy.

Exactly KD. If you think about it, once Sunday night rolls around, the Sox championship will be in the past too. It should be a great rivalry again though... every damn game keeps me on the edge of my couch. At least I have Gen-R to watch at Coors field though!

And what is this bullshit about having the Yankees and Red Sox shake hands before the first game? What a crock.

It should be an interesting year though. All their rookies tore up the minors, so we'll see how they do in the big leagues. Atkins, Hawpe, Closser, and Barmes should be interesting to watch. I'll be at the games when Francis pitches, too. Its good to see all these young guys playing... maybe 5 years down the road they'll win some games.

dudeabides, you a Cubs fan?! Right on, me too. Long suffering but always loyal. After the magic of 2003, last year was a real fackin' disaster. Let's hope Wood and Prior are healthy, Normar returns to form, Ramierez becomes the all star that he is and somehow, someway we find a closer. Go Cubs!

screw that, let them get their rings opening day at fenway.
seriously, it is a little bit in bad taste, and it wouldnt have the same vibe as getting them in Boston.

comaprisons to last years team to basoms way of thinking.

New york: starting pitching = much improved. bullpen = meh, about the same defense = still pretty damn good. ofense = possibly more upside than last year

Boston: starting pitching = not as strong on paper, but has a bigger up side than last season (and we have a lefty this year). bullpen = heavily fortified, stronger than last season. defense = the same as the team in the second half of last year. ofense = more consistant, as powerfull, as fun.

stoked for wells in the bronx on sunday.

bas, i pretty mcuh agree with you. but i'm not very high on NY's pitching. Both Wright and Pavano are coming off career years (which are way out of line with their career norms), moving from severe pitcher's parks and a pitcher's league to Yankee stadium, which is a nice hitters park.

Should be very interesting though. If Miller and Schilling are healthy by June, and clement is pitching to his ability, I think the sox will be in very good shape.

oh, i fully agree. but a lot depends on health. i'm not too much in awe of the yankee starters, but i have to admit that i wanted pavano and randy mcdandy to sign with the sox. aparently Brown, as their number five, has found his arm slot and is back in form. i fear he might be a tad more effective this year.

clement had a good session today and i hope he's ready. if you listen to what the scouts say about this kid then the ability is off the charts. its just remains to be seen how he copes with the pressure cooker that is the boston media. if bronson arroyo had one more pitch he would be a number two caliber starter. i hope he can be as effective as last year.

i forgot that we have my boy trot back as full time right fielder (except when a lefty is hurling, man he cant hit lefty). had a tallk with my trainer friend, who is on salary with the sox this season, and he is of the opinion that trot is in shape to have his "career" year.

I love the baseball smack thread! I've played it just about my whole life, it's just too bad that the Rockies suck, but Coors field has to be one of the best places to see a game. Rock pile seats for $5.00, you can't beat it. I'll be there April 15th to celebrate the end of tax season!!! Work is not fun now.
