Saatva? Hmmmm....maybe a typo and you meant sativa? A cannabis filled mattress? That would make Jeff Session's head explode!!! So, would that make the sheets EZ Widers??

100ZZZ coupon = $100 off. For $890 and a coil under structure, I think this is the one I'll suggest they get for the guest room.

Sears has an annual labor day mattress sale that is crazy cheap. 40-50% off of everything. Top brands for half price. I saved $800 last year and bought a mattress way out of my price range.

Everybody has an "annual labor day mattress sale". They also have annual President's Day, Independence Day, Memorial Day, and Pound You in the Ass Day sales. It doesn't matter what day you go mattress shopping, you're going to get the same deal.

Are box springs even required. I was looking at some platform beds and it's just a mattress ??

You don't need a box spring for platform beds but you can if you want. If you choose to go mattress only make sure the slats aren't too far apart esp. if you're getting a mattress like Caspar (memory foam etc.). It will ruin your mattress and may void any warranty.

This is a good platform bed that comes in a couple different styles and colors. Solid wood and well constructed. The slat structure is great. Goes on sale quite often, no regular schedule you just have to keep checking the site. Sold on both Overstock and Wayfair.

These look nice but I seek something sleeker and perhaps in a showroom gloss white. Minimalist. Sleep.

Back in the day boxsprings were actually a functional product. They were made out of real springs and when you laid on the mattress they would help absorb some of the load which prolonged it's usable life. Problem was they were costly to make and made the mattress feel softer...longer life/softer feel were not what retailers wanted so in the 70's they started making platforms out of wood. Then in the 90's they came up with an even cheaper substitute, it's made out of wood/steel but is so rigid just like the old wood platform all it does is raise the mattress up about 7 inches. It's cheap and makes the mattress feel nice and firm, which is a win/win for the retailer. If you feel you need to pay for that, it's up to you.

^^^^Yep, a box spring in my mind is to get the mattress at the correct height for bed side shenanigans.

The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Are you asking what to do with a box spring you already have or thinking one automatically comes with a new mattress? Don't know what to do with a used one besides offer it to a charity. You don't have to buy one when you get a mattress.

Any recommendations for good inflatable mattresses?

We are buying and remodeling a condo and would like a temporary but comfortable mattress that we can move around easily while working on the place and before moving in the real furniture. We'd probably use it for guests after we are done with it, so still want something rather higher end, durable, and comfortable.

could have saved $100! I've bought mattresses sans box springs for platform beds and the sales people always act surprised and incredulous that I only want a mattress. Maybe it screws up their matchy-matchy inventory.

Buy it from Costco, so when it inevitable fails you can return it.

That's kinda the case with anywhere these days, not just Costco, but definitely a consideration. Wife just picked something out on Amazon. $100 buck with shipping. We'll see, just temporary anyway.

Haven't bought a box spring in decades and still use the same one with no issues. Put the money saved in a better mattress or a topper.
