Thanks guys, I see now that Flow's are the beefier wheels in that series from Stan's. Will think about tires but since I'm doing 90% trail riding I'll probably wait till next season. Might rent a DH bike one of the days for shits and giggles, they have full spec Trek Session 9.9's this season.
this seems kind of kewl

Doesn't count.
That's the only way you can get them to turn.

Was graced by the presence of the Toucan Newmad on the local trails this week by a Crested Butte bike shop emp passing through and wondering which trails to take. Being a fellow Enduro'er (RM Slayer), he knew to stop me to ask about the best trails for wearing knee pads that you also have to pedal up. Thing looked big, long, wide w/fashion DH bars, the blacked-out shocks look sick but goddam is that color combo just a touch on the side of awful. I'm sure he'll sell it in the fall and get the new one next summer when they have regular colors. It's hard to feel the threatening presence of that mega bike in the Miami Vice color scheme.
On another note, just about to put some 800 mm fashion bars of my own on my Slayer, which will make it almost as cool as a 650b. A little bird told me they're coming out with a carbon 650b Slayer in the future, though... curious if it'll be as short of a bike as the 26ers are.
edit: This is Dunfee, but nobody cares.
This bike is good. I rode one at a Demo on tuesday. I had to ride a large, and at 6 feet, that thing with a 50 was toooooo tiny. The XL is the same stack/reach as my large Orbea Rallon, would have felt much more comfortable on that. It climbs extremely well, felt light, lighter than the rallon, and was super fast descender. The trails didn't really suit the bike but it was fun none the less.
