A little update on the guys caught in the slide.
The article states that avy mitigation had been completed that morning. And it sounds like there was quite a bit of traffic on the slope. Any ideas why it slid anyway?

that side of the dive is usually fairly thin.
The article says the Dive opened for the season 3 days before the incident - that is inaccurate. Its been open for a while (a month maybe?), I'm not sure when Milky Way/Galaxy ridge opened though, that side often opens later.
Edit: the Herald changed the story to clarify Milky Way opened a couple days prior, the Dive opened in late Feb. I guess they are watching...Last edited by jamesp; 04-04-2014 at 11:36 AM.
