you gotta give us more than that. Pics? Estimates on dimensions? Who was riding them?

One guess as to who was riding them (hint: it was a maggot). Dimensions? I would guess 140-125-115. No more reverse sidecut. Now it's more of a taper. Still reverse camber of course. No pics, sorry.Originally Posted by Platinum Pete
Hmmm, interesting... without the reverse sidecut though, is it still a spatula or just a really fat decambered ski?
I heard DB was testing something like that at Alta last season...Originally Posted by Big Blue
can't wait to see and fondle the new K2 but not sure about having traditional sidecut with reverse camber? I love the reverse sidecut.
fondled a pair of birdos yesterday. very light. burly edges, reverse camber is much less than the spats, very fat, i think 135 at the waist, not as much reverse sidecut as the spats either (based on visual inspection, i don't know the exact dimensions).
Very cool....The taper reminds of the 3T that Iggy had on their website last year. I don't think the 3T had reverse camber though.Originally Posted by Big Blue

Questions for the "old school" Volant Spat riders: does the reverse sidecut or the reverse camber contribute more to the smeariness of skiing the spatula? do those design features only work in concert? How about the spatula's ability to plow through anything soft, does the sidecut or camber add more to this ability? How do you think the new taper design will effect groomer/cat track/hardpack performance? If your Volant spatulas were stolen and you could replace them for the cost with either new Volants Spats or K2 Spats, which would you choose?

The future is here. The widest ski ever made, this ski is our choice for a powder day. The reverse sidecut and rocker give you unparalleled control and stability in ALL sorts of soft snow conditions and having the widepoint in front of the boot tip creates a ski that you can be super aggressive on and stomp airs better than anything else you can click into.

Pardon my ignorance, what is Capital? A ski company? Is there a website?
I'll try and post a photo of the new K2's tonite.
It's heartbreaking to see a chick who's too anorexic.
Can't wait. Idris and I were just discussing shapes and those dimensions are real close to something we thought we'd do a proto for.
Watching McConkey ski normal skis in the Hit List almost made me cry.

will it have the metal reinforced cross bars like the ones Idris made in banff??
It will be the first all buffalo hide ski.
Will it have a perspex window so that you can see the flattened buffalo lungs inside it?
coooollllll
lene mayer skied the vulcan a bit last year. he could maybe speak to the differences on the snow to the spatula. if he got his head out of a vulcano in New Zealand and on to the board every once in a while.
