Today at the Bird was how a powder day should be. Slept in, went to the store, cooked breakfast, lounged around the crib, made it to the tram at 1pm then proceeded to get Silver Fox and Upper Cirque as the rope dropped for the first time today. A freshly fallen foot of snow produced face shots every turn, then repeat run after run. THere was nobody on the hill (walk on trams) so if the storm didnt refill your tracks, you would just ski right next to them from the run before. What a refreshing change of pace from every other powder day. Back to the LCC rat race tomorrow...

And we had the place to ourselves this afternoon too!

I am somewhat ashamed to say it's the first time I"ve been out in almost a month, but damn....what a day. Skiied Gad 2 all morning until I had to go to work, each run got deeper and deeper. First run, a foot of new on top of old crusty bumps, 2nd run, deeper with a few face shots, 3rd run....nearly bottomless, 4th...5th...6th...you get the point. I'll be back for more tomorrow, thursday, and saturday.
