Neither here nor there in this discussion, but I lived in Seattle when the downtown bus tunnel opened. What a major infrastructure boondoggle that was, I hope they've now integrated it into their system. At the time it was "we've built this tunnel, and we even put light rail tracks in it, in case we ever decide we want light rail, but we don't exactly know what we want, but this tunnel, well, it's gonna be a huge part of our system, whenever we figure out what our system will be."
What will this new tunnel do, just replace the existing waterfront viaduct? It's not going to do anything crazy like go under Lake Union, is it?
