We were driving loaders and snowcats down Highway 40 "stranded at the lodge". This ain't quite like that, at least around here.

Yup, Georgia and/or Boreas. Doesn't Georgia come out at the golf course? People with homes there would flip the fuck out!`

No, just make Rte 9 south of Breck and 285 actual highways and bypass the towns. Hoosier and Kenosha aren't as bad as Loveland or the tunnel approach. Quandary would have to have its own exit

I know it wouldn't compete as a comparable route to I70 on a regular day but when traffic is a shitshow (i.e. Every weekend) it could help dramatically.

Gotthard Base Tunnel - 35 miles, $12 billion.
Morrison exit -> Keystone tunnel would be 39 miles.

I wonder how much it would cost to charter a commercial 737 or 757 and fly from JeffCo to Eagle? Could be a good way to avoid the traffic and it would be a really quick flight.

With a full load of skiers it could be reasonably priced.

    more good ideas

you guys are delivering this week!

why have we not discussed a train yet this week, a train would solve all problems and then the real bad asses could actual just rip 70 up and down all day long while the posers ride the train

    Talk to Micol

I think they need a tunnel from Denver to GJ with various access points to the surface along the way for towns/resorts.

Another idea I like would be building a second level above the existing interstate. This will serve to add more lanes without expanding the footprint while having the extra added benefit of protecting the lower level from the elements.

Awesome idea but couldn't work with the tunnels. They'd just be the choke point again.

Bigger tunnels. Eisenhower has offices above. Just rip those out for more room.

Wonder how much higher they can go. I'm assuming to go higher they'd need to go wider too. At least when you're talking about adding another ~14'.

Amazing to think she could have skied Jackson Hole, then driven one hour longer than yesterday to get home.
I have been thinking this a lot recently

Or Cold Crush on a Sunday afternoon about two months ago. One girl OD'd that afternoon, and some guy got shot dead.

I just don't understand why people don't want to take the time to have a properly equipped vehicle for the conditions. No snow tires, no chains, the "gotta get to the mountain the fastest way possible" etc. I am only assuming these are the same people who are in the "it'll never happen to me boat" aka dumb fucks.
On a side note: I sold my 4x4 Truck and bought a Subaru Forester w/ snow tires..this thing handles 10x better in the snow than any truck I have ever owned.

Denver was a perfectly good dusty cowtown 15 years ago, back when you could park and drive and buy a house for $150K. Now it's just another self absorbed "metro" full of of man buns and tricked out Toyotas driven by "skiers".

Keep your yuppie ass down in Brown Town and we'll all be better off.

I suppose by your logic if denver was more like Detroit that would be a good thing? Since a vibrant growing city is such a terrible thing??

    Idiot
Wasnt a problem for those of us who hung in Denver back then. Pussy.

fyi if its an older boxy model like 2002 , you can fit a 8" memory foam twin size mattress in the back with the rear seats folded....makes a great car camper....did many nights in one , also good for long trips that might require pullover and short snooze to rest a bit
