Does anyone here remember before,I-70?
When it was just US6 & US40?
No "resorts" (cept for Aspen).. just ski "areas?"
"Colorado Sucks!!! Tell all yer friends.
^^^ did skiers go by horse and buggy then?
rainbow be detectin' all that CDOT monies...
I have gotten stuck there
was about 15 mins long not bad
something went sideways a week or so ago and it looked like 70 was shut down for 6 hrs on a wednesday I almost went down that day
the shit part is when traffic restarts and you are suck behind all the dips who sit in the left lane and can't go the speed limit or won't pass it's maddening
then a semi passess another semi on gtown hill for the win I just cut the mother fucker off no respect for semis anymore
took me all the way to the top of Gtown hill to get out front and then it was smooth sailing plenty of sketch right hand passes were made
I mean I suppose we knew it was coming but it did come in with a bang when it got here
Lots of I70 gold today on @I70things. Vail Pass looked like a shitshow.
blame it on the “shockwave”…
fact.

Was this actually implemented? How'd it go down?
Right. How about just enforce the existing chain and traction/tire laws, give the "improper mountain driving" tickets and so on.
Its just a strange reactionary CDOT Hot Take. I'll take a chained up Safeway semi with a driver that drives over Berthoud 5 nights a week than an SUV with banana peels piloted by a clueless flatlander.
Leave now!
We are the clown show. I love how the messaging is now "It will be fucked!". Gone are the days of "avoid peak times" "expect delays" "have good tires and be prepared".
Good luck!
