It wasn't bad at all. There was an accident around Genesee that caused a 10-15 minute slow down but Floyd was fine.

Apologies if this has already been discussed (haven't been paying attention to this thread lately) but the $700M project to add a toll lane from Floyd Hill to the twin tunnels doesn't make much sense unless they can keep the subsequent toll lane open more often. Just moves the merge/bottleneck a few miles down the hill. WTF am I missing here?
Not to mention, even the part time toll lanes have made an appreciable difference.

Right. So when the Idaho Springs-Emptire toll lane isn't open, you'll have to merge back into the other two lanes of traffic right before the twin tunnels. So just moving the bottleneck down the hill? I only see there being a benefit if that IS-Empire toll lane is open (1-2 days per week).
Sometimes it will probably be like that... but for the every day, regular "holy shit, Floyd Hill is a fuckin' train wreck at 11:30 on a Wednesday morning?" bullshit, it should help. Also - the smoothing of the curves *should* cut down on the number of accidents that also seem to fuck things up on Floyd Hill more often than not.
Perhaps I'm just being overly-optimistic.
We all want the EpicTram and IkonicRail, but there is alot happening in the interim.
Vail Pass lanes and Berthoud resurfacing happening too...

I’ve been getting through Floyd Hill just fine. Just need to get through earlier than 9am and later than 3pm during the traffic holds for blasting.
Also, Berthoud Pass to Winter Park is now going to be jacked up with repairs to that clusterfuck of road damage last season, as well as repairs east of the tunnel to those trenches that formed and caused many accidents.

I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.
To be honest, I can’t figure out why that 4Runner can’t get unstuck in that spot. Just flip on Altrac.
And apparently tried to turn around?![]()

Some people are really fucking stupid. The driver should permanently lose his license for something like that.
