7 hours from west Denver to Aspen yesterday, I had it all. Car in P on I-70 for ~30 minutes due to Rockfall mitigation near Idaho Springs, huge traffic jam from Glenwood Canyon closure, Cottonwood pass closed, road work between Minturn and Leadville, road work outside Leadville, stuck behind a convoy of RVs on Independence pass, and some flash flooding. Hell yeah.
Construction season is a bitch
"fuck off you asshat gaper shit for brains fucktard wanker." - Jesus Christ
"She was tossing her bean salad with the vigor of a Drunken Pop princess so I walked out of the corner and said.... "need a hand?"" - Odin
"everybody's got their hooks into you, fuck em....forge on motherfuckers, drag all those bitches across the goal line with you." - (not so) ill-advised strategy
Do they close Cottonwood Pass whenever they close the canyon?
I have an appointment at Steadman Monday morning.
Tried to make it to Edwards from Breck for an appointment yesterday. Took me an hour to get to I70 because I was dumb and tried to go the normal route through Frisco. JFC, this shit will never end.
swan mtn and don't use the back way through frisco either cause all the traffic apps route the punters through there so it's just as bad
I just embrace it and make phone calls occasionally loosing my shit when I'm in a big hurry
Where is the rotary going in again? Those things are the best... except here in the U.S. where nobody can figure out how to fuckin' use 'em.![]()

The fuckin' music is perfect for this video of how not to use a roundabout (Kentucky, unsurprisingly):
No, CDOT has to provide information that applies to all motorists. Vehicles and vehicles with trailers over 35' cannot use Independence pass. Also, a lot of motorists really cannot handle driving it. The recommended detour route is the best one for CDOT to disseminate.
