I personally would recommend not doing the Indy thing with a pickup/trailer combo. I think you're inviting more trouble than if you just suck up the small mess in Glenwood.

Cottonwood is the way to go.
Or throw caution to the wind and go over Crooked Creek Pass.

I would never have anticipated posting a q to TGR and getting entirely helpful responses!
Will prob head towards Glenwood and be ready to audible to Cottonwood depending on how GMaps shows Glenwood looking. Thanks, folks.

I'm pretty sure Indy has a length restriction that you'd be violating.
It's all about timing for Glenwood. I do not the details on what's good, just that I made it through pretty ok a few weeks back.
Came over the other bridge in Glenwood at 8 with no traffic. Bigger issue was the little Tacoma not liking going up to the tunnel. Slow ride. Thanks.

Did you ever try Hagerman? Would have been a lot shorter.
My trailers probably pushing 6000lbs and I just don't want to fry my brakes.
My Jeep GC with Hemi has been a great tow vehicle. The 8 speed tranny, with paddle shifters is really nice.
I70 closed because of a pig spill. Shit just keeps getting crazier and crazier. First a boat in the middle of the road, now there is 50 pigs roaming the freeway.

^My kid picked the wrong time to leave csu and head to Moab.
Heard they are going to have approx 1 hour stoppages at Idaho Springs tomorrow for rock mitigation. Plan accordingly.
I think it was yesterday & today only. Heard a blurb on the radio, but maybe cdot for updates.
They talk about this in terms of Cheyenne>Denver>Pueblo but no mention of the Vail connector. However the map shows an intriguing Vail/Dilverthorne connector.

It takes three hours to fly between Denver and CO springs? Really? By way of Chicago?
A 15 minute connection to the front range would really cement ruining it. I guess maybe it's too late for that.
Why the hype about Hyperloop though? It's way too far out. They should just install a high-speed Amtrak and call it a day.
(Fair warning: I don't live in CO, and have no idea about the feasibility of this).
Amtrack can't compete with sexy future tech or getting to your destination in less time than it takes to sit down and boot up your laptop.
