So I guess that means I-70 decongestion once the rest of the nation legalizes weed is unlikely.

Says the Narrows, west side of VP before EV I think. A few semis involved. Sounds like it'll be a while.

CDOT does not like slides on open roads. Could be an interesting day for all passes.

    Damn.

CAIC South San Juan: "Colorado narrowly escaped an avalanche fatality south of Silverton on Monday when a rider triggered an avalanche above Highway 550, was swept over a cliff, and was fully buried on the highway. The riders partner and a passing motorist were able to excavate the skier unharmed. A very close call. "

At least 2 miles, it looks like.

I-70 closed both directions Silverthorne to Georgetown for avalanche reduction.

Word from a buddy is Bethel just ran and hit his truck while stopped in the traffic. Nobody stuck, no debris on road, just the powder cloud. Holy shit.

I can confirm by second-hand reports that he was wearing brown pants.

I love skiing, but I'd rather take two months off than drive I70 Dec 15th - Feb 15th to do it. Sorry not sorry.

It is amazing how many roads ARE open considering the snowfall! I'm giving the thumbs up to CAIC! And even CDOT!

    Damn -- nuts up there.

Hut trip this weekend certainly isn't going to suck. And should be interesting conditions for our AIARE class.

Full ground blizzard in effect right now in Grand County. I was recently directed to CDOTs Twitter Feed. Seems way more up to date and helpful than the website. Wife want to drive to Steamboat. We'll see.
