Blackfeet Indians used to walk the shoulders barefoot at night but they were a shy people and when traffic backed up they would disappear onto the frontage trails till it cleared. They were last seen on the surface a decade and a half ago and are thought to be using underground mining tunnels and coal seam fires to get around nowadays.

Looks like the Apache range came into southern CO maybe Wolf Creek to Pueblo area.
But Utes and Arapahos up north.
Two truckers using the Silver Plume off ramp for their chain station. How do they not know there is a chain station down the hill in Georgetown?
1:30 drive from Loveland to southeast Aurora last night at 4:30pm. 15 mins more than it would have been on dry roads with no traffic, but it wasn't terrible.
This seems to be pretty common when it is snowy. I would like to offer my thanks to the 2-wheel drive cars with bald tires trying to make the drive from Silverthorne to the tunnel yesterday afternoon.
I lived in Denver from 05-12, (C-Springs from 93-97, and Boulder 00-01). I liked it, I enjoyed the urban vibe and bike routes and beer, but I skied a whole lot less than I do in SLC. I watched the Front Range fill in and vast swaths of Denver gentrify - and I don't necessarily think all gentrification is bad. CO is suffering from the tragedy of the commons. It's a great place. Maybe too great? Lots of people have done a great job marketing their lifestyle.
I fully realize SLC/Utah is not for everyone, and that's what keeps it liveable - and skiable. My professional class friends and I 'sacrifice' some things you enjoy in Denver so we can play hooky for half a day and smash powder during the week when it's good. When Denverians leave work early on Friday to drive up and beat traffic to ski Summit/Eagle on Saturday, my friends and I leave work at 3, drive 30min, ski 5 laps and spend happy hour at The Sitzmark.
Utah definitely needs a cooler flag logo, then we could put it on everything so everyone would 'know'
Yeah, I usually don't make it further than L-land or L-land pass when going that way but have to say that a good deal of the I-70 westward of there total snarl-ups seems to me to be due to how that whole merge works. Loveland skiers - and A-basin/Keystone skiers when the pass is open - basically get the priority over the summit and vail skiers = far less delays.
Yeah, and that doesn't even account for the very early migratory patterns. For example, the Navajos are from a much larger group linguistically, the Southern Athabaskans (this includes the Apaches as well). This group now exists in the southwest, but is thought to have migrated from the northwest at some point in the distant past (the Navajo origin story, however, places their creation in the 4 corners area). So depending how far we want to go back...

I think the new tribal name is Frangers. Their territory spans the length of I25 in the Colorado territory and they are characterized by enlarged calf muscles on the right leg from constant braking, and eyes which are desensitized to the color red from over exposure to brake lights.

I left Denver at 5am, made it to Keystone by 6:30am, drank coffee and ripped bowls for 2 hours, then did two runs on schoolmarm and headed back at 9am, home by 10:30. I earned my epic mix stoned runs badge.
It's efficient to have a highway over Hoosier, down to FairPlay and then on 285, especially when the average commutes are looking like 4+ from Summit. The ski resorts should be made to contribute for their part in this (low pass prices, endless social media posts of staged chest deep powder, etc). Think of all the pollution from those cars sitting for hours on end as well. Highly touted wind credits don't offset that!
he already told you, he did two runs on Schoolmarm.

Member when those two big slides covered I70 back in the early 2000's and closed the highway for a few days? Yeah, I member. We need that again.
Late March 03. Skiing was good. Gas stations ran out of gas. Stores and restrautns ran out of food.
Everything was shut down 3 days. Except the lifts. It was deeeeep.
Avi rose was black. They evac'd bakerville. 2 people died in slides and there a lot less BC riders back then.
