Looks more like "what could possibly go wrong with merging on an Interstate at 3mph day?"!
I just thought it was worth mentioning that Your Way is a traffic control subcontractor, they don't actually preform the paving or other various highway work. They do not set the schedule, they put up the lane closures as directed by the Contractor within the limitations specified by CDOT.
I'm too lazy to search through this thread... wasn't there talk of the toll lane not working at one point? Early data says otherwise.

formerly an ambassador for a few others, but the ski industry is... interesting.
Fukt: a very small amount of snow.
All I know is I've taken it twice this summer and it's worked great both times. Worth the $4 fee at the time.
It works great but it's what, 13 miles? Everything upstream is still a major clusterfuck, as well as westbound at Floyd Hill to Empire. Holy shit is that bad.
WB on I70 by Georgetown was just repaved. Why don't they take the time and widen it just a bit, so there's a third lane? The breakdown lane is basically as wide as the express lane. Trucks and trailers could be restricted to that lane on the Georgetown hill and would help with the congestion that builds when they barely go 30.
C'mon now... As if cdot would have any leftover resources after building those two fucking asinine exits in Idaho Springs and paving 95% of a third eastbound lane that can be driven on 20% of the time (presuming it doesn't snow of course).
Jeez....some people have some fucking expectations, don't they?

As for the "data," how exactly does it "indicate" effectiveness? Was there a predetermined metric to use, or is it "well, we spent millions on this, so we better tell everyone that we are awesome?"
Nailed it.
Even if the PPSL were saving people 30 minutes a trip today (which it doesn't), building 95% of the whole lane, at 95% of the cost of building the whole lane, in order to gain 10% of the effectiveness of the whole lane simply cannot be justified. WTF's whole "incremental improvements" line is just classic CO native "call it good" bullshit. The PPSL is a scam. Spend all the money, deliver 10% of the solution, charge people more money to use it. Even Chris Christie would blush.
70 closed this morning due to accidents....
ROLL TIDE ROLL
I drove down I-70 on Friday afternoon and up I-25 to Ft. Collins.
25 was a lot worse than 70.
The biggest problem, people camping in the left lane. The second 75% of the dorks on the road see a truck, they automatically move over to the left lane.
Doesn't matter that the trucks doing 70, is a mile ahead and it will take them five miles to pass it.
I think we're batting 1.000 so far this season, right? A little snow a couple of weeks ago led to a closure on Vail Pass, and a little dusting today led to a closure at the EJT.
Should make for some lightly attended pow days! Keep it up, retards!
Pathetic.

Whats more annoying?
This happening at this time Every. Single. Year?
Or
Listening to people bitch about it at this time Every. Single. Year?
Neither. It's pure entertainment.
Had fun thinking I could skip sunday traffic by coming home Monday. Nope. They closed 1 lane at Silver Plume and routed everyone off the hway at Georgetown and then back on again (yes, so you had to slow down to 5mph to get off and then wait for a truck to get back up to speed to get back on). Took some frontage roads but was still delayed by a good 30-45min. Everyone stuck on the hway was probably looking at a 90-120min delay. What a clusterfuck. Some good plannin right der.
Vail Pass was closed for accidents this morning....it didn't even snow.
ROLL TIDE ROLL
when are they supposed to do construction? I hit the GTown slowdown on Thursday (heading west) and Tuesday (heading east). It sucks but it is what it is, I don't know what kind of planning they could do to make you happy. If you said "do it at night", then there'd be some other Lindahl bitching about how they thought Monday night driving would allow them to miss traffic on I-70. They skipped the weekend, seems like that is the planning they were supposed to do.
It's the old adage, there are two seasons in Colorado, winter and construction.
