If you like Long mixed terrain xc loops I highly suggest going to Bear Brook. I'd personally give you a proper tour but think I'll be at STAB that day.

Here's a good map. Carr ridge, Big Bear, Hemlock, Bear hill/Hedgehog and Cascade are all good trails to work into a big ol loop.

Contemplating a Wed-Thu-Fri STAB and Highland combo for next week. Tempting, so tempting.

Bear Brook looks great and think I'll head there Wednesday. I'd love to make Ascutney work, but seems its just a bit far (2.5 hrs)

Wednesday night in NE is traditionally a road group hammerfest, i'll be at the Rhino shop ride that night in Plymouth, NH.
otherwise i would be down for a Bear Brook sesh, i haven't been over there in years.

Looks like the Pemi group got themselves a chapter. Id like get some more bata on Fox Park, Welch Dickey or whatever else I know they have going on.

I rode Spaulding woods while I had my oil changed. The terrain was between Franklins Falls and Highland XC trails. The trails all seemed kind of short and fast in some spots, I'll ride it again.

Rode Saw Mill and Mill Pond. Gorgeous hand built trails. So hard and slow riding. Need to find somewhere to open it up a bit more.

The Land Locked Forest has a bit more flow than those places. Not a ton more though.

Gotta drop in and throw in a flow vote for Willowdale. Unsuspecting location in north shore mass but super flowy am you can be in there for a good long while. Stratham hill park has some good flow too if you need a stopover hour long ride on the way to maine.

anyone know what crowds are like for FMB Spring Training at highland in 2 weekends? Thinking about heading up with a group for the weekend, but not sure I want to do it if we're going to be waiting 30 minutes for chairs all day.

Wanna ride Willowdale Saturday? I will also be on a rigid, and don't feel like getting beaten up at any of the other southern NE spots. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Let me know if this happens. I'm only like 30 minutes away from STAB and would definitely be down to ride/drink beer in the lot. My work schedule is fairly flexible as long as I have some notice.

Not this week, obviously, but a couple trips later summer/fall. Work/weather/family crap has crept in for the next couple weeks, so have to stay local. Fuck!

Nice clip and riding chatton, some sweet (and big) drops.

Looks like some nice trails Dave, your work? Any beta on Millstone I should know about other than what's on the site? Going to be in the area for a week and plan to go check that out and after seeing your clip, might have to venture over that way one day also.

I like Locomotion out to fellowship ring from Littlejohn. Then back thru on lastlight and over to the rollercoaster screamin deamon ect on down to the herrington heights/ridge zone. The zone from Rollercoaster down the herrington is probably the highlight area lately and is definitely the most unique and interesting trail with quite a bit of well build structures, more highspeed runs and some really neat low speed technical riding. F U N. Alot of folks go straight there from the lot then fill out the ride with some of the older trails over towards littlejohn/locomotion/fellowship ring. I think you could ride there for 2 days and not be bored. The Jaques Brothers volenteer-build the shit out of that place with a good group of dedicated riders. They have their own flavor going on over there, and it's is tasty.
Here's an older vid from before alot of the new stuff existed.

Thanks Dave! Looks pretty sweet, although some of those rock sections are well above my riding level at this point in life, some impressive moves there on the rock hops! The tight tech spots look very nice, hopefully, everything dries out quickly after the last 2 days of monsoon season.

I'm going to do some more poking around off the CVT, I've found some really nice branch trails off there in the last few years that were a bit overgrown but very ridable and quiet. Planning to also do some powerline exploring (lungs willing) off route 2 and check out some stuff around Harwood Mt. and another spot someone told me about near Gritt Hill, pretty much blind on the last 2 but going to see what I can find.

Nice tunes btw, SCI or YMSB???
