i finally get off my butt, make the journey down south, and not one of you slackers is gutsy enough to jump on the pain train![]()
anyway, the first half of the logging road climb sucks. i never use my granny gear on galby, yet i found myself not only in it but getting worked consistently. oh the pain.....luckily the second half was easythen we rode the preston trail, and that was a lot of fun. it was dry, with a couple kinda muddy spots in the low places, but nothing even remotely bad. the second half of the trail was very fun, running into root sections at high speed and hoping that your wheels don't hang up
i was suprised at how railable the trail was considering the roots and loose rocks and the fact that i had never ridden it before. then we hit the road, and since i was hot i took off the long sleeve jersey. then it started snowing on us
then finally we rode the timber trail back. that was a very nice jaunt through some beautiful forest.
on this ride i learned that from the sound of it i would get dropped by all you xc nerds like a dirty diaper covered in spiders during the climb. i also learned that the singletrack is fun enough to make me forget the bruised ego from getting worked. so bring it on squirrel man![]()
