    All Around Freeriding Bike

So I ride all mountain. I ride single track a lot but i want to start doing my freeriding and dropping stuff.I am trying to stay at a resonable price.

Heres what I narrowed it down to.

    Banshee Morphine
    Banshee Sirocco
    Santa Cruz Chameleon
    Specialized P3
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

So I take it you're just looking at hardtails? What's your pricepoint? You would have a tough time building up any of those frames at the same price you can get the complete P3 at.

Also check out the Cove Stiffee.
As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.

What they said /\ Scoober and 778 got it right. Cove or DeVinci.

if you're looking at the banshee, check out the scratch. steel, hard to break (cough...cove) even with a big club. fairly cheap. it looks like this year they've got some different build packages, whereas last year you could only get it as a rigid singlespeed.

You might consider getting a Soul Cycles "sponshorship". They give them to average riders as a sort of promo deal. Their hardtail frame is soooper cheap w/ the sponsorship, and you can get all the components you need at or below cost w/ the purchase of a frame.

I know I push this idea on people a lot, but it's really hard to pass up a well built HT for so cheap.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

If you're referencing my broken Cove post from a few weeks back, it should be noted that the frame I broke was a steel XC frame, and the crash was completely non-freeride related. It just happened to be the perfect crash event to make that frame fail.

I haven't heard of many (any) Stiffees breaking. It's Easton RAD tubing which is widely used, and, well... rad.

The Scratch is a good reccomendation, burly and fairly inexpensive, but that thing looks like a bitch to actually trail ride with. I think its really specific to jumps and park. Along the same lines though, there's the Azonic Steelhead, the .243 racing 4130 frame, the Transition Trail-or-Park (SS only i think).

The Surly Instigator is another one to look at. Steel, but w/ geometry more suited toward all around riding.

Again, Balfa Minute Man or Surly Instigator. I never get any backing on these, but they kick ass.

In this case, I'd definitely back both of those bikes, AB.

I guess I always just assume everyone knows the Instigator already. But now I will back you on your crusade, Lemmiwinks!

The Balfa is sweet, but I haven't seen one in 3 years, and Balfa is out of business right now, so they are hard to reccommend.

They make some pretty burl frames, I've yet to break one. The Titan is the way to go for all-around madness. Product should be up in the next day or two, as the site was recently redone.

No, I'm not connected in any way.
