A sight that can ruin a perfectly good pow day...

So Snowbird today was deep, but my morning was ruined by a few things. 1) all of upper peruvian gulch being closed , 2) Little Cloud being closed, 3) Gad II being closed. However the #1 thing that ruined the day for me..... seeing a pair of spatulas in the tram line.... with FUCKING POWDER CHORDS on them Either there are more and more idiots showing up, or I am just getting cranky in my old age It was almost enough to ruin the 3 or 4 minutes of visibility that I found when I got off the tram which allowed me to find an untracked line from the peak down to the bottom of regulator

I think it's just the one and the five played loudly.

Does it always bother people so much to see others using unacceptable equipment? I used to feel that way about snowboards, back in 1988.

Spinal Tap could do a Powder Chord.

Although you could turn it to ELEVEN for similar results

I don't get it. What's wrong with powder cords? And why would they piss you off?

It's sort of like going out to get drunk, making sure you have sufficient barf bags?

And besides, this is all about powder cHords, not powder cords. Sheesh. And strictly speaking the Title should be "A Sound that can ruin a perfectly good powder day". Or maybe not.

perhaps he was on hallucinogens and thought he was seeing sound and that made him uncomfortable

    Wink

    Powder Chords by Yellowcard

    Band: Yellowcard
    Song: "Powder"
    Tabbed by: Mike (barrett_314@yahoo.com)

I find Drop D tuning to be easiest with this song.

    CHORDS

    G F D Bb Eb
    e|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
    B|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
    G|-----------------------3--------------------------------------------------|
    D|--5------3------0------3------1-------------------------------------------|
    A|--5------3------0------1------1-------------------------------------------|
    D|--5------3------0-------------1-------------------------------------------|

    INTRO/VERSE:

    G F G D
    "Lying soaked in sweat..."

    PRECHORUS:

    Bb F Eb F
    "Forever..."

-Palm mute three times between full chord strum

    CHORUS:

    Bb F Eb F
"Crush it up, crush it up..."
    -Up and down strokes

    VERSE TWO SAME AS ONE

    PRECHORUS

    CHORUS

    BRIDGE:

    Bb F Eb F Eb F
    "There's power..."

CHORUS X5 - Palm mute last one, end on Bb

That's pretty much it. Really simple, but really awesome song. Have fun with it.

Oh I have many ideas. Maybe his Aunt Sally's mod p lens space didn't admit a homotopic decomposition into a pleasant CW complex and as a result her poodle fetched a particularly ugly price at the market.

All in all, I'd say it didn't really matter. What matters is the great snow.

I believe the Prof is only kown for clutching at crumpled cans of cheap beer, #5 tonkin cane flyrods and the occasional passing breast. But I'm no expert in this regard. You'd have to ask him.

Powder cords imply that the guy has releasable bindings, and those things REALLY piss me off!!

It would actually be more annoying if the Spats had Markers on them or if the powder cords were being used on a hardpack day

Maybe I am just being cranky or maybe it is one of those things that if I have to explain, you just wont understand. Or maybe as LB said, my pussy just hurts. But for the record powder chords are not a good idea, and NO you are not supposed to tie them around your leg. Anyone that has ever worked ski retail has probably had to explain this more than once

Why are they not a good idea? If you lose a ski, then it is alot easier to find. And yeah you are right, you are not supposed to tie them around your leg. You never stated in your first post, but did this guy have them tied around his leg? Probably not since you were in the tram line.

Yes, you should explain because your post is totally confusing.

Damn, i guess i am one of the ones that needs it explained. On really deep kirkwood days, i use those streamer things on my spats that tuck up under the cuff of my pants. But i also run a fairly low din and they have saved me the trouble of digging for a lost ski several times. Are these powder cords? Or are powder cords the things you strap to your lower leg?
