While pitching crypto as a tool for economic opportunity to the rubes in Congress, he harbors radical ideas about crypto’s true purpose. He believes the United States is in “slow decline” and embraces the Network State, a cultish tech movement that ultimately seeks to end countries as we know them—to decentralize governance in the same way that crypto seeks to decentralize finance.
I did not know that almost half of all corporate PAC money in 2024 was from crypto industry.

If anyone’s tired of Bitcoin, Trump’s crypto is now open (for accredited investors and foreign nationals only at this time).

I suppose there's some question as to whether TrumpCoin is primarily the scam that everyone, including Trump supporters ("he's a smart businessman!"), assumes it to be... or whether it's main purpose is to be a vehicle for funneling and laundering future political bribes and kickbacks.

I’d assume the mostly the latter, but also a ‘why not both’ type scenario.

Same with his watches - cheap ones for the rubes, $100k ones for the bribes. Payable in crypto, of course.

New HBO documentary, "Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery". Claims it will identify Satoshi. I doubt it. For some reason documentaries have an air of respectability when in reality they're done almost entirely without any sort of rigor or fact checking mechanisms. The likelihood of approaching the truth is near zero. Anyway, here's the trailer:

Considering 1/2 of the population has an IQ below 100 I'm surprised its so low.
I'm sure the geniuses that support it on this forum will remind us why holding assets with no intrinsic value is a good idea.

Bitcoin creator is Peter Todd, HBO film says. Peter Todd says no, "of course, I'm not Satoshi, it's ironic that a director who is also known for a documentary on QAnon has resorted to QAnon style coincidence-based conspiracy thinking here too."

I'm of the opinion it was a group of ppl we all know who they are. I think the keys to the 1M Satoshi coins were thrown out purposely. That's like my opinion man.

A group definitely cooperated after initial release. But it's hard for me to imagine a loosely coupled distributed group of people cooperating like that. It goes against human nature for someone not keeping a copy of the keys. If for no other reason suspicion another group member kept a copy too. It's like a prisoner's dilemma. Things like clandestine government plans, elaborate secret murder pacts, the moon landings were a hoax or whatever are really hard to keep secret because in reality minions eventually spoil the plot
