From the live news last night the toddler/kid was playing in the house and schrapnel went thru the house at waist level and even interior walls, they showed the holes. The kid was on the floor, had he been standing or anyone else in the room, it would have been a horrible tragedy.

Unreal. Someone got shitcanned this am.

I wish they would shoot at our house, then we cold get free passes.

I saw an old interview with the Mayor of Alta; He said that if someone ever tired to force their rules on Alta (be it the County, State, etc..), he would turn all the avie guns down valley and keep them from coming up the canyon to enforce them.

    WOULD IT!?!"

That guy was full of shit, we use avalaunchers and they don't have that kind of range. Your tip-off should have been "basin always", like it's common.

    Pfft, what do they know????
And not even a mention of that video of the sledheads getting caught in an avalanche???

(PS: Flykdog, isn't the basins avalanche system called "Gas-X" or something awful like that???)

Gaz-ex, that's the automated, propane-oxygen system on the top of no-name. The snow safety guy can wake up in the night, punch a few keys on the computer, and set it off, then he reads siesmographs to see if it started a slide.

We still use avalauncher guns at about 6 sites on the mountain, and run about 12 primary hand charge routes.

Summit, I'm still laughing about your post...

I don't know if Big Sky has howitzers or not; I don't think they do as I've never seen one. Could be very wrong though. I know Big Sky's infamy in the news was that a patroller was killed while placing a hand charge; it detonated in her hands and blew her apart.
