Anyone had any experience with bootfitters in Chicago? I went to Viking last night and the guy fit me in some technica diablos, and they fit well, but damn they were expensive.
anyone has any other suggestions?

Tom at Snowcrest in Crestwood knows what the heck hes doing. Are you looking for a better bootfitter or just a better price on boots?
I figure if I'm going to drop a boatload of cash, I might as well see if I can get the best service possible. I've only lived in the area for a few years, so just looking for feedback on who is going to do the best job
Sounds like a good reason for a trip to a bootfitter out west.
ROBOTS ARE EATING MY FACE.
Its almost April.
If they still have your size, they will also have it in a month when pool and patio season arrives. Ask when they have sales or make them a reasonable offer. Season is over in Chicago.
Tom at Crestwood is good, but he's pricey. Rick at the Vertical drop is pretty good, but they started there sale a month ago, so they may not have much in stock.
There is an ortho in Palatine, Dr. Robert Stienburg, that does good work. He doesn't sell anything but footbeds, so he won't try to sell you on something thats not right for you.
It is pretty hard to get a really good fit were you can't ski them and take them back right away. Why don't you take an end of the season trip to Taos and see the boot doctor.
Buyin new boots sucks if you ask me.
I agree, just take a trip out west and go to a good bootfitter!Originally Posted by bossass
