It's good to be back...Alta opening day

This morning i was once again reminded of how much I really do love skiing, in LCC, with good frineds...Simply amazing, even on an overcast, windy day.

Roll up in line with telephil and altagirl. See phUnk, Bum Z, powderwhore, slip, xover, mr. altagirl and others. Lots of old friends and folks i haven't seen since march.

Chat till the lifts open and my feelings of excitement rise. I'm thinking i'll ski the groomers all morning to be careful, but it was just too good off trail and the knee was feeling good.
Found some really creamy, wind buffed all over....soooo good.
Took the High T and had the pain train right behind me, with phUnk tucking the traverse. There's nothing like hearing xover's voice shouting.."here comes the pain train, woooooohoooo" over and over!

I've missed skiing and i haven't been this excited and stoked about it in a long time, something that a lot of people don't feel who don't ski. It will only get better as we get further into the season...It's on baby!!

Kick ass Liz. I am hitting Basin on Turkey day, but am seriously contemplating Basin on Sat for opening.

I need to figure out the knee and ankle and see what more I need to continue for PT. Almost there, almost!!

So, is there some type of love-affair going on between altachica and telephil? Seems like they've been hanging out a lot lately. hmmmm

Ha, ha....you would really like to know wouldn't you.

EDIT: How could I forget, the snow was very nice today. A great opening for Alta, including the social event prior to opening. My knee is feeling pretty good as well, for the first time this season, I'm feeling like there may be a chance I'll get to where I was last year. The stoke is on.

nah, just trying to stir the pot up a little. This place gets stale every once in a while. Some message board romances are always a good way to stoke the interest fire around here. I was just curious.

Glad you all got at it today!! It's good to see everyone is getting back to their favorite hills and having a good time. Did they have anything closed today?

The fire is definitely burning. Pretty much everything was open except the supreme chair.

Well, I missed the gang once again, but was in the company of two good friends, who decided to do some exploring...first day, Glory Hole, Eagles Nest & most of the backside are looking good!

The lower part of the snowpack hasn't solidified yet; it's kind of odd to put a pole down on a travese and hit bottom three feet down, but hey, that's life.

Anyway, it's nice to be home again at Alta...

Would have been there with you guys this morning. Even got up extra early to beat Xover for first chair. Started loading equipment up. Wait, whats missing? Shit. One boot at Black Diamond for mounting of Freerides. . Kinda hard to ski with a bare foot.

Glad to hear it was a good time!

damn I'm out of shape . Oh well. I showed up around 12:15 and skied for a little under 3 hours and I fuckin sucked. Couldnt' do anything right. I've decided that I'll never ski on my rock skis again. Too much sidecut too soft and too skinny makes for shitty turns when the snow is so grabby. ANyway ran into Powho when I went to the truck to grab the Explosivs and had one run on the groomers where i didn't feel like a total gaper. Definitely looking forward to Saturday and Sunday when it will be cold with some fresh
