    EMERGENCY -- Beacon holders needed!

I will definitely be there Tuesday and Wednesday -- while the 24" at 6000 is still fluff. 8 AM at either the upper or lower lot. Silver RAV4. Bring skins and your "A" game!!

The lifts in neither area will be open tomorrow. I think the upper parking lot accesses the best stuff -- the low hanging fruit. Maybe a few laps in the BB Chutes to assess stability and then on to the cornice gully on Herman?

I was just looking at the snowpack totals on the NWAC site. Glad things are a little better than this! As of 3/15 Baker had 15 inches, compared to an average of 165 inches. The previous minimum had been 44 inches in 1981 (the max, 305 in 1999). These numbers are just jaw-dropping. Anything at this point is a blessing whether it means more skiing or not.

You know the thing about baker, is that I can get skuncked for getting kliller shots all year, but in three weeks it is possible to get the best shots ever, as long as we get a good spring cylce. Infact we are the onlyplace in the world that can get no snow all year and in the month of march get most snow in the world. Hopefully this will be the year.

I was just starting to hope for the same thing after storm skiing all weekend in Tahoe...Sunday just could not be the last day of the season for me. And now they are calling for more storms this week. Even if it isn't an epic dump that gets our totals up near an average year, all that we really are asking for is a few weeks that fool the PNW into beleiving that we ACTUALLY had a winter this year!

Fubar had indicated that he still had those corporate passes in hand and would love to do another mag gathering at Baker this year, weather permitting. I think it is time for a roll call.
